Our coaches seem to have done OK. Why disrupt the momentum?Got to have a few more coaches on for Gateshead? Get as many Shrimpers up there as possible
I thought the same about Gateshead, but a win gives us a chance of a home tie, in the first playoff game, so we should be definitely trying to win.Very good performance again today, much like against Ebbsfleet we controlled the game and barely gave the opposition a sniff. Bridge and Coker were very good again, and I prefer Husin in the deeper lying role. Kendall has now scored two very good goals in successive games, I had my doubts over his finishing ability but he’s proving me wrong.
I owe Walker an apology too, after the Solihull game I was very critical and stated that he looked disinterested. He’s also proved me wrong with some much improved performances since then, hopefully there’ll be more of the same to come.
My only slight worry in only needing a draw against Gateshead is that we’ll get sucked into sitting back. I hope this isn’t the case and we go all out for the win.
He reminds me a lot of Adam Barrett. Brave, likes a challenge, determined and has ****housery, my type of player!I hope we are able to sign Goodliffe for next season. Although he lacks pace he is good at doing the basic stuff and is a real threat from corners which we have been crying out for years. He is probably able to score half a dozen per season which could be worth an extra 3 or 4 points.
Yes very Adam Barrett like, he lost his pace due to the serious injury he sustained in August 2022 which was a cruciate ligament injury leaving him out for 6 months. This was the 1st game of the season at Sutton after he had been a big player for them for 3 years and being player of the year the previous season. He is very physical and also a organiser/leader he will have no qualms about telling team mates what he thinks when they make an error! I would like to see him back with us but we have several decent central defenders already so we may well let him leave if he decides he wants more regular football. Having said all that he does have a daft mistake in him at times but that is probaby why he is playing at league two/National league level, it will be interesting to see where he ends up.He reminds me a lot of Adam Barrett. Brave, likes a challenge, determined and has ****housery, my type of player!
Yes he will be, I saw something about it the other dayJust a thought. IF by chance Southend go on and win the play offs, would Nick Hayes be the first player to get a National league winners medal and National league play off winners medal in the same season? Think @Napster is the man for this one ....
Just about true, but I really can't see Oldham losing at home to Ebbsfleet.I thought the same about Gateshead, but a win gives us a chance of a home tie, in the first playoff game, so we should be definitely trying to win.
Yes, their leasing situation at their ground is now sufficientWhat’s the situation with Gateshead can they take part this year
exactly what we were saying in the West - at 1 nil down they were playing it around at the back looking totally defeated already.I was a bit disappointed with Wealdstone as they did not seem up for it. Then I realised it was 100% down to us. We really were into them from kick off and prevented them from getting any rhythm and you could see the confidence and belief draining from them before your eyes. Great performance and energy.
He wasn't sounding very pleased after the game.God knows what their manager said to them but he can’t be happy with that display, especially where they are in the table.
You’d think they would’ve had a bit more fight![]()
