Post-Match Thread and Ratings Southend United 0-1 Sittingbourne Town

Seemed like we came out late for the warm up and then looked to trot around in a 'we don't need to warm up for this' state of mind. Feels like this set the scene for the game in which we showed zero desire, passion, speed or ideas.
I expected some set piece ideas to test their defence but we just lobbed the ball in to this big center back like a Sunday league team.
Very disappointed we put a weak team out which put the handbrake on any consistency or fluidity we may have built up with our 3 up top formation recently. Once that's lost it's hard to get it back, because it feels like starting again.
Felt KAF gave the ball away an awful lot and seems to struggle just returning a simple throw in to our player. I know he had a shot or two, but runs into trouble too often. Felt he and gubbins were weak. Taylor approached the game with misplaced arrogance\laziness and waldren showed why he needs to go out on loan !ower down.
If Kendall wasn't lightweight he'd be very good and at least put pressure on them. Felt walker hopper Morton Ralph were the only players to get anywhere near a half decent showing. Harness kicking is awful from a dead ball.
the whole thing is best forgotten and bonne can xuck right off as soon as he likes. Should know better than to show pony. a. In our box and b. In extra time.

as others have alluded to in this thread - why are we so Jekyll and Hyde?

Great performance against Daggers

OK performance against Fylde, created lots of (missed) chances

then today we looked a bit lost and off the pace

what the hell is going on ? 🤷‍♂️

Something is quite clearly very wrong.

We're unlikely to ever find out what but some drastic changes need to happen to turn it around.

We seem to have a habit of turning promising players into turgid ones.

When Kevin says he took the game seriously and fielded a side good enough to win, yet after 45mins we'd achieved nothing and looked toothless up front and sh*t scared of driving forward from defence. And we lookedthe same after 50mins and 60 mins and 70 mins you've left it too late to give yourself a fighting chance that any changes might benefit you.
Yes - it was a sloppy error from Bonne but the team style and effort had lost that game long beforehand by not scoring a goal.
Very very disappointing. If I'm honest I don't want us to make the play-offs for I fear our future next season if we do. It's tough but we have to get a team that's stromg enough and a playing style that will put fear in our opponents, instead of allowing them to enjoy a fag and a read while they wait for the ball to come out from our defence or midfield in any attacking way.

PS yet again why are disabled fans made to stand and wait to get out of the only easily accessible exit via the track and North East corner because opposition team members remain on the pitch,. And to add insult to injury, then have to watch the opposition fans load on their coaches parked in the disabled bays while our fans have to struggle to walk up the hill of the car park to reach their vehicle? Stick the coaches up the far side of the car park so they can leave via the top gate and give the disabled their parking facilities back. Come on....sort it out!
Well said regarding the poor disabled supporters it beggars belief the club are making things more difficult for them I know many of them have supported the club for many years Tom Lawrence needs to sit down with the stadium manager and sort this problem out for our disabled supporters

Some players are nowhere near good enough, more exposed when we have injuries / illness. A midfield 2 of Morton and kaf has no bite.

Let’s be honest, if harness, gubbins, kaf, Bonne and Waldron were never to play for us again, would you be upset? As bad as a few of the others have been this season we look a stronger team without those 5 being there

I hope we have a management team that knows how to win, and move us up the league. For so long now we don't seem to have a clue, every foot forward is followed by a couple backwards. We get excited when new players arrive then disappointed when we see them play.
We should have put this team to the sword, but once again we can't score....when is this knightmare going to end!

Fair play to Sittingbourne, all the best to them and their fans in the next game.
The most embarrassing result in our entire history I’d have thought, certainty last 30 years. Managers have been fired for less …
Didn't we loose an FA cup game away to Dover?

We learnt one thing today. If we were to get relegated it would takes years to get back up again.
Slow slow slow. Sideways sideways wide then a cross headed out. Repeat for 90 minutes.

Serious question- Will ant of our players stick it right on Bonne in the dressing room for costing us a good chance of getting to Wembley, with a stupid stupid and for me somewhat arrogant so called nut meg in our own 6 yard box in the 94th minute of a cup game?.

A proper winner would be seriously ****ed off by such an unprofessional act but my fear is we don't have that sort of bite in our team, which is probably why we sit mid table in this stinking National League.

Anyone would think he is world class by playing that sort of stunt and not a washes up "one season wonder" who is stealing a living at our club (like half our lot).

Unfortunately we aren’t blessed with out and out goal-scorers. If it wasn’t for GSM (and Pepple) this season, we would be in serious trouble.
And this is my point about why I wasn't getting over excited about the Tom Hopper signing. Technically a very good player. Will help out the defence on corners and free kicks. But will he score the goals we need, I don't think so. I think he may get a goal every 4 or 5 games ratio. He lacks that pace. Is he a good replacement for Bim as someone said, definitely not. We still need a main striker. Fylde should have been buried before 30 minutes on Tuesday, and Sittingbourne survived today because of our powder puff attack.

I know it was a stupid turn by Bonne, but none of those players that played have any right to moan at any other other player.

They were all ****.
