4. We are under an embargo for sure.

It appears there are rather a lot of permutations of the truth/conjecture/bull****. Don't worry, all of the possibilities will be true at some point during the clubs future so no one will be wrong forever.

My first post on this subject and it will be my last probably unless the situation drastically changes. I am just going to put my take as a total outsiders view.

I can see the areas of concern from those outside of the "know" and those itk have information and knowledge that, for obvious reasons they cannot fully divulge, but put limited information on to try and give a vague overview to try and alleviate the worries of everyone,, in an appropriate manner.

The trouble is that, as such, you can be a victim of timing, which can weigh peoples views in either way.

An obvious example of that is last year when outsiders asked or suggested we were in an Embargo situation, BW2 came on and gave an outline of why we were not, which was totally correct at the time it was given, within a short time the club announced we were in an embargo. None of that could have been foreseen by BW2 it's just a case of timing and circumstance and the full detail maybe not being in his remit or access.

The problem is it can cloud people's views and opinions moving forward, although the circumstances can be different.

I just feel any insight given by those itk, should be taken on board in the spirit they are given, as a help and a guide from the knowledge such people have.

I don't think there is anyone on here that would deliberately post misleading or inaccurate information. Obviously events move on and information can be added to, but again, is posted to assist knowledge and not confuse a situation.

So when reading any ITK info, that is given, bear that in mind please, as club finances is an emotional subject to begin with, let alone with our added history and is a moving feast, especially during the close season and that any information given can never be the "full story in it's entirety" but is subject to change, but is correct at the time of posting from the post concerned and given with the best of intentions for all on here.

Would be good For the trust to find out if there is obviously anyway to help, but also to promote ideas where the club can help itself. Obviously like others we don’t know the size of debt, but things like debit cards for STs could get 500 extra sold. Even if only 20% of money arrives immediately, that’s a good few K which could pay some wages

There are a few debts from the past that have never been sorted. I think the people involved just gave up on the debt.

I don’t know how it’s possible to prove it, I’ve got an awful lot right about players recently so I guess if you want to be that naive then that’s your choice

You would think if members of the public are suggesting a companies staff haven’t been paid, you would think the company will come out and quash those rumours…. You’ll note there hasn’t been to much in the way of a statement

The main reason is we don’t like people who have good contacts and inside information. We like to dismiss or troll them…… Above all we will never apologise when they are proved right but leap on any Mussa type changes as some sort of justification of our sneering comments.

I think these are genuine issues that should be discussed on a forum. I don’t think we can expect the mods to censure that!

What is very frustrating is moving it to the main thread has just accelerated conversations on something that should be under finances and feels like Groundhog Day- going around ever faster in circles with no more light than we had at the beginning.

Onceknownasrab’s post #442 probably sums it up quite nicely.

It’s clear giving the thread more visibility has raised heat and added absolute zero light…not sure that’s a win.

It's not a situation where you can ask friends or family at the club that haven't been paid up to date, to show proof. You just take their word on it. If some friends want to show, that's up to them, but it wouldn't go down to well at the club. I have also heard that just a few haven't been paid. It's nothing like the past when most staff, players included weren't paid on time. But there is a few that are owed wages. As the season ticket money is coming in, I'm sure they will be sorted. Not the way to do things, but it's Southend.

Good post. No people should not have to prove they have been paid or indeed show they have.

What becomes problematic is when, rather than saying some staff in certain roles have not been paid on time, it’s claimed all other than first team management team and players have not been paid when that then turns out to be untrue. Then people understandably start wondering what to believe and say well at least tell us which job roles we are talking about. People shouldn’t take that personally it just the inevitable outcome.

No doubt we are destined to go around in circles a good few times yet. Perhaps we should pin the thread and see if that helps..
