Some Club Staff Salaries Late/Embargo Chat - now resolved (for now)

Sickening and disgusting, but otherwise just lost for words. How can we even think about new signings when these employees are once again going to have to find some way of meeting their monthly bills?
I totally agree. I regularly read the thread about transfer speculation and find it totally absurd that we can consider signing new ones, when staff are going unpaid. It’s got to be the priority of paying them first.

@Shrimperstrust is this something you are aware of and can discuss options for resolution?
Exactly this, also there are individual Trust committee members on here who regularly post, so Is there any chance we can open up a discussion. As it stands at the moment we are driven by hearsay and maybes, and as supporters it would be really helpful if there were some concrete facts that can be shared.

Why does it need to be discussed in public. I’m still owed money by Ron but I only have myself to blame.

Is this a symptom of the club having too many full time staff after relegation from the football league? Normally clubs would cut staff after relegation to save money and spend what they have on the first team which in reality is what matters, did the club do that?

Yes, it's the first team which matters. The powers that be at the club have recognised this and have decided to strengthen the team and to fund this by not paying the non football staff. It's okay though, the club thanked them for their loyalty. It is just a shame that they won't be able to use the thanks to pay their mortgages, bills or to buy food etc.

Your totally missing the point, the reason people are allegedly not being paid on time is that we might have too many full time staff for a club in our position.

Football clubs will always prioritise strengthening the first team look at Barcelona, they can't pay the players they have and are not honouring contracts but have just spent £40m on a 33 year old

Presumably any new players won't have been due a wage yet, first month being July and not due for a couple of weeks. So arguably no cash has flowed out on new players

My apologies for missing your point, it's the heat you know.

Good point. Perhaps then in that case we could use any cash which has not flowed to pay the staff already on the payroll.

I can see you are getting exasperated at the unhappy situation we find ourselves in . If its
any comfort I can assure you that the rising tide of anger felt by so many at the club will
be factored into our discussions next Wednesday . Unfortunately , there will always be a few people that are never going to accept anything is actually wrong. They bury their heads in sand and hope the problem will rectify itself without any firm action being taken . The Shrimpers Trust people are highly respected by sponsors for the good work they do but I am not sure they will be able to offer much assistance in actually changing the dynamics of this particular situation .

That is some comfort, thank you.

The Shrimpers Trust have been around for a very long time and they have assisted the club financially on many occasions. Without knowing exactly what is up at the Club it's therefore difficult to comment on whether they can be of assistance or not.

As you are alluding to having inside knowledge, are you prepared to share what you know on here?

Has this thread moved from finances to main chit chat because its got new information. New insider knowledge, dossier on the clubs finances, rumours circulating of a certain tropical juice drink....

If you were a sponsor and dealing with Ron I would have thought you would have a contract tied up in a thousand ribbons
Some of those clauses could relate to agreements about money being forthcoming only if certain conditions were met. Maybe even a repay the sponsorship for failing to meet the agreement.
I think Ghosty laid it out fairly clearly and no doubt as a sponsor I would be concerned for my reputation, whether the contract agreed has been abused, what steps to take next, what impact might it have with the league and yet again the reputation of the club, Wonder what Stan makes of it?

If my sponsorship offered was based around ongoing payments as well, would I want to continue if the agreement had been broken,in any way, and what would be the impact ??

Alternatively how much are we looking at to get over this hurdle and could we put more in the pot. Given the tone it would seem the second approach less likely

They knew they were dealing with RON ultimately so probably had to make absolutely sure agreements were water tight and breaches, penalties carefully responded to?

Time for a Tom statement

Yes, don't worry about not paying them -- just sack them.
