If a number of teams are using data driven methods to identify players and assess their value will it not lead to essentially the same players coming to the notice of these clubs?Feeling fed up of people’s gripes towards to data approach. Every club worth their salt will use data to analyse players and their impact on the team. What Shivaas is hoping to do, I’m sure, is ensure that we use it to the best of our ability. It’s not that data has the final say. I hope this data approach leads to better signings, starting with Tom Hopper.
That can only drive up the value of this player group thus making it for more difficult for clubs like Southend to sign them. Would that not also mean that now real value must reside in those players who do not show up data analysis programmes?
