Feeling fed up of people’s gripes towards to data approach. Every club worth their salt will use data to analyse players and their impact on the team. What Shivaas is hoping to do, I’m sure, is ensure that we use it to the best of our ability. It’s not that data has the final say. I hope this data approach leads to better signings, starting with Tom Hopper.

If a number of teams are using data driven methods to identify players and assess their value will it not lead to essentially the same players coming to the notice of these clubs?
That can only drive up the value of this player group thus making it for more difficult for clubs like Southend to sign them. Would that not also mean that now real value must reside in those players who do not show up data analysis programmes?

I’ve got no problem with this thread. My moan is about all the other threads on ShrimperZone. On some of them, I have to wade my way through quite a lot of relevant stuff just to get to the moans.

The only people happy with a separate moan thread, are the ones that support every decision the club or KM makes, this is a forum for views, not Facebook with fact check. Don't sterilise this website, as it will become less relevant to normal fans.

Certainly. Those who are happy with the current situation, want to give Maher more time, call for patience, grateful to have a club, self styled 'in the knows', COSU only been in charge 6 months, embargos, loss of Cardwell and Kensdale etc etc. Such appears on many threads however irrelevant but always allowed to stand, whereas,,,,

I share many of your views but, just because others oppose our thoughts it does not make them the opposition. It's not us and them. It's simply a difference of perspective. Everybody is right unless they disagree with me. I think we should all get together, hold hands and sing Kumbaya.

Transfers was the topic, and I was annoyed that we are scrapping round the bargin buys, and doing so much less activity than tiny part time clubs, and it was pulled. Seemed it was because I was questioning how we do things, not off topic chat
