I go home and away myself and have said myself that's bents needs to command his box better like Oxford pompey just two to mention fourtanly they never cost us but abusing him won't help wen we are going for promotion need to stay positive and back them

Can we stop this pathetic winging about individual players. We just produced the best performance of any team so far this season at Shrewsbury, as agreed by their fans and youth coaches who were behind us in the stand.

The reason they scored so late was down to another great away performance. DB more than played his part. Just read some total rubbish about him not commanding the area. He actually claimed every thing he could or got at least a fist to the ball over four or five bodies, before their very well taken goal. Another eye catching performance from a keeper we don't get to see the likes off at RH

Don't believe me, well he certainly impressed the gut next to me who turned out to be a scout from Sunderland. He had actually come to watch a Shrewsbury player, but ended up pumping me for info on DB. I for one will wish him the best of luck when he moves on to much higher things

We have some right prats who say they support SUFC. Still I suppose it is better to moan on the Zone than at the ground.

No chance of 6 points as one of the games is on Tuesday at home and when was the last time we won one of those

Took me a while to find it but here it is. Tuesday 13th September 2011. 1-0 vs gillingham in front of 4,598!

I'm sorry but i can think of at least 3 times today where Bentley should have claimed the ball and if Paul Smith failed to come for them our fans would have gone into meltdown.

However, any blame/abuse directed at Bentley is completely ridiculous . The amount of times that man has saved us points this season with some world class saves completely outweighs the mistakes that are inevitable for a 21 year old keeper. He will certainly go on to bigger things and will look back and laugh at those who got on his back, hopefully he remembers the majority who supported him as well though.

People forget he is 21 very very very young for a keeper he will go on to bigger things for sure and make are club a lot of money let's keep the faith and be positive squad is looking strong cover in all areas things looking up

Dan seems like an intelligent bloke to me, I don't think the abuse will affect him too much (although it's not helpful).

Good thing is we have come away from the league leaders with a cracking home recorde with a point a very good point and it fills like a loss wich says to me we are growing as a team and will be their ur their a outs at end of season

Woods I guess?

Woods I guess?

Actually no, not Woods. Cant remember the name as I gave my programme away, but it was one of their on loan players.

On the subject of Woods their youth coach told us they had turned down two offers this week, both from.........West Ham.

Great credit to PB. He sat JP on Woods, who sits very deep so the likes of Deegan would be to far up the pitch to be an effective marker. JP was up against it first 20 but gradually took over from Woods and finished the half the stronger of the two. Woods must have been given some instructions at the break because he was far more concerned with what Payne was up to early second half. That passage of play ended with the great finish from JP. Again the Shrews staff were impressed.

Lots on here thought they would not even start, but once again I'm pleased to inform you that Thommo and JBW were excellent at the back. Feel free to ignore marks as low as 6 for either of these two, as poor AB cant even get a 5min run out

Been in for about 45 mins. Horror show getting back on the trains.

Bentley DID make the mistake that lead to their goal but it was still an incredible finish from that position. For it to sit up like that for a player worth £300k sometimes it's just not your day. Nevertheless Bentley has shown the right attitude, ultimately you have to chalk this one up to experience.

Shrewsbury are clearly a very capable side. The movement of their front two was excellent throughout, they just lacked their final ball on a number of occasions. They also didn't exploit the width that our midfield diamond allowed them. On paper, a draw at the team top of the league is a great result and I'd have taken it before the game. However to see them look so short on the day does feel like we let 2 points go.

Thompson was MOTM for me. He was a bit no nonsense today but also picked out Cassidy and Pigott a number of times allowing us to counter attack effectively. He attacked the ball in the air and linked well with B-Williams to nullify the dangerous Shrewsbury forwards.

Leonard looked a bit redundant at the base of the diamond and Timlin's hard work got him out of jail today. At times it looked like a 4-2-2-2. Atkinson's work rate should be noted as well, he was an important player on the counter especially in the 2nd half.

Payne's goal was really well taken. Timlin's value is always evident when it comes to ambitious passes. If he has any mobile players in front of him (as was Payne in making the run) he will spot them and look to make the difference. Payne's quick feet gave him the room he needed to pick his spot for the finish.

In summary. We played very well against a very good, but out of sorts, team. One point here has to go down as a positive. Now we have 2 winnable games at home. The morale in the team looks good, they all celebrated together and now they will have to keep that for the rest of the season.

Just seen the Shrews goal, and yes, Bentley didn't collect the ball but Barnett's shot was from the narrowest of angles and we had 2 on the line and neither got their heads on the ball.

A very well placed or lucky goal. I would go with a well placed goal.

The BOY giving abuse to Bentley from his pictures associates himself with TBV the group supposedly started to get behind the blues! Disappointing comments towards a player who has saved us soooo many times this season, deserves to be in a higher league and loves our fans!!

**** sake don't bring groups into it if a person wishes to express an opinion that's up to them but quite what TBV has to do with it I don't know

Yes Bentley is a great goalkeeper but he went walkabout for the Barnett goal. That is not to criticise him, it is a fact. Yes he keeps us in games with great saves, but surely no one in the team can be above being at fault.
I guess Barry Corr can't be at fault for anything according to many on this site and I suspect it is the same with Bentley.
He decided to go for a ball and his error led to Shrewsbury maintaining their unbeaten home record.
Bentley will learn that he still has a bit of developing to do.

There's always a debate when it comes to punching and catching and often GKs are accused of punching too often, but having watched the highlights bentley needed to punch that especially with a player underneath the ball

Anyone who says they wouldn't have been happy with a point before the game is lying. Yes, it's disappointing in how we ended up conceding but Dan is a young guy, very young in terms of keepers and still learning every game.

He's been the first to admit it was a mistake but it's a lonely place for a keeper after a mistake. I've played in goal myself (not to any great standard mind) but you're always remembered by your mistakes rather than the great saves or the occasions you've kept your team in games, look at Casillas during the World Cup?

No one is talking about Bentley's Schmeichel-esqe star jump save towards the end at Oxford now are they?

Back to the football. On paper that was a very good away point and we've now taken 4 points off of Shrewsbury and that could be massive in the final table.

It's imperative we now get this Tuesday night monkey off our backs against Cheltenham and then follow it up with a win against Accrington. 6 points from the next 2 home games will makes this a huge point!
