or he's referring to Bilel's eating habits during the last Ramadan that were in part blamed for his tetchiness at the time? I believe it was stated last year that fasting during daylight hours isn't ideal match preparation.

I know what he is saying but that's his religion and we have to respect that. There's a lot more in his post too. If Mohsni left, he would be very much missed

The point I was making was that with your JT comment you were seemingly accusing "Dave" of being racist. Maybe he is, but the evidence of his post isn't sufficient to condemn him.

It's possible to respect Bilel's religion, whilst being aware that some aspects of it may affect his performance. That's not to say he should change, just stating that it's a potential issue.

I know what you are saying but taking the whole post as one, it is pretty derogatory towards Mohsni and so looks racist. Had it been presented differently without being so attacking, maybe wouldn't seem so racist.

Derogatory yes but racist? Saying someone is tired because they don't eat during daylight hours during Ramadan is hardly racist. It's just stating a fact.

It's not a nice message, granted, but it's not racist.

It's certainly an ignorant one as Mohsni's home country is France, not Tunisia.

Mohsni should go, if we got 500k from Sheff. Weds, as I feel they would give him a platform to play for Tunsia in Brazil 2014 (if they make it there). To be honest, Southend Utd is no going to say no a offer of 500k.

I live in the Middle East and am about to go into the Ramadan period here. Nothing at all "racist" in what Dave said. Any muslim would agree that Ramadan is not very compatible with football. You've spent too long in PC Britain mate, you know that's the case when you're crying "racist" when even the people concerned wouldn't do so....

Sell him no player should dictate when and where he
plays is going to be tired come ramadam again??
will he want to go back to his home country of tunisia
when the going gets tough again.
Will not be missed

I really am of the opinion that allegorical poetry doesn't work on this board.

DINGDONGDAVE's comments aren't racist just a bit badly put together.

If I call someone from Pakistan 'a fat ignorant ****' that's not racist is it? Just because the person is from a different country you can still say things like DINDONGDAVE has about the fasting being a problem. Even if it does come across a teeny weeny bit fascist. :winking: (HAHA, just kidding)

If it's 500k we will sell, but I don't think he can settle anywhere else and I don't think we will be offered that amount of dough!

For £500K I'd be willing to let him have a go!

Ha, yep. I agree. I'd sell my bird for that to another bloke, no questions asked, so Mohsni can go for 400K.

The trouble is I like probably most of the fan base of SUFC are a bit pesimistic about what this money will go on.

Mohsni can be so influential so do we just sell Mohsni, just so we can pay a few bills? Is that acceptable to everyone? Or do we want to strengthen with that money?

Any money made will go towards running the club Im sure, including salaries of players, we wouldnt get 500k for him, but if we got 300k that would pay for 5 or 6 of our current squad for the year.

I cant imagine any money would be spent on transfer fees for another player.

We are going to have to pay a fee for Straker.

Yeah, well, we don't really need to spend money really. What I mean is, I want the money we receive for a big player for us to be spent on wages of a new player that can replace his creativity or danger. I don't mind it being spent on just wages. Just want to evenly distribute around the budget and not just so we can pay the cleaners. If you see what I mean.

Indeed, which I was surprised at but I imagine will be a pretty nominal tribunal fee.

What I meant was I cant see us going to go out and spending £200k on a replacement for Mohsni.

It would be nice to know it was reinvested in the team somehow, but from the clubs point of view they are putting money into the club to pay the existing players so may welcome another source of income to pay the players we already have.

Wasnt the CEO paying for Freddy's loan ? He may look at any income from Mohsni as an oppotunity not to have to put his own money in for example.

Theres also the salary cap to consider, it may be that we are near to the limit and even if we could afford to pay another 5k wages we may not even be allowed to.
