Naah. Luggy is the gaffer. Like any boss he can give out the PR he wishes to.
Is different when individuals speak their mind publicly on issues that the club may wish to remain private. Footballers would not tweet about their work if I was the gaffer. No question.

Yeah God forbid footballers have contact with the great unwashed.

I'm sure anything that gets tweeted which the Club wanted to remain private would lead to the individual involved being reprimanded. Mark Phillips tweeting about the level of training that the Club have lined up for pre-season is hardly confidential information. The training sessions are usually open and it's nothing more than Sturrock himself has spoken about in the Echo last week.

I disagree. His heavy-hearted responses to constructive criticism, his comments when he is affronted by the fact we don't like his boring style of football and other such posts are not PR. They are just the honest opinions of a football manager indulging in his own form of social networking. His comments are welcome, but leave him poorly placed to take any moral high ground with the players.

I agree with Mick.

Mohsni is a great player, his discipline issues are on a par with others, and he scores important goals.

Yeah to be fair to Mohsni he clearly made a conscious effort to control his temper during the latter months of last season. There were times when he was getting clearly fouled, not getting decisions and you're thinking "He's gonna snap in a minute" but it never materialised. That said I do have my doubts as to how long that could last for and if we got anything upwards of 300-350k we'd be crazy not to accept it. A fee less than that then I'd say he's probably worth the gamble of keeping for the goals and threat he'd offer a promotion push.

That. I disagree. Getting promoted is worth far more than the figures you are quoting .......... and if you have a player that can make a difference in games and turn a loss into a draw and a draw into a win, then "we'd be crazy" to accept such a small amount of money.

Mohsnis main problem is not getting decisions he wants, not just those he should get.

He did certainly improve after coming back, but there were times when something didnt go his way and he would walk back slowly from the oppositions half. Thats forgivable if you are up front, but not in midfield.

Even if Freddy signs he is still a player you go to see, so would be a shame for him to leave.

Yes but £350k is not a small amount to a League Two side. Thats our whole squad's wages paid for for 2 years (going on my very crude estimates). Yes Mohsni is a matchwinner but the club have said that every player has his price that we'd reluctantly sell and given Mohsni's volatile nature and the amount of incidents he's been in the "last chance saloon" I wouldn't be surprised to see him go if the offer was right.

I'm not saying I want him gone though as he's a great character and his mere presence on the pitch makes the game more interesting for things on and off the ball.

A player who can contribute well in a number of positions should ease rather than cause selection problems.

Disciplinary problems ? Well he received just one solitary caution (whilst scoring 8 goals) in the second half of the season from the turn of the year.

Great player ? What a sad indictment of the club if we cannot fit a great, versatile player with a much improved disciplinary record into the squad.

During that same period Benyon picked up a yellow and a red whilst scoring 2 goals but I'm sure he fits in really well !

My point was, as Luggy obviously doesnt trust him at CB and he is actually a very good footballer, PS is having to shoehorn him in where he can get him onto the pitch.

Mosh has done well at LW, but doesnt always look comfortable there and I also question what it is doing for Dave Martins confidence to see a CB playing in front of him. Also, with Hurst now - assuming he isnt going to replace Hall, that will be 2 wingers sitting on the bench whilst a CB plays in front of them.

When we go direct, Mosh at LW can make sense to win knockdowns against a small fullback, but I'm not convinced he is always comfortable there. He is good in the air, but offers little that a traditional winger does. He may even work out as a CM later in his career due to his ability on the ball and combative quality.

I recognise his improved behaviour, but 'discipline' doesnt begin and end with cards dished out. See the last game of the season where he ran off down the tunnel and then spent all the time away from the rest of the players as they did their lap, which was really poor. Yea, yea he was signing autographs, but again it was a very solitary act no matter how you dress it up. Just dont think he is a 'team' player and wonder if he has lost the confidence of those around him?

Whats Benyon got to do with the discussion? Thats a whole different thread!!!

I would suggest that our wage bill for just the ONE year would be at least twice that. I would reckon that the likes of Harris etc alone (and probably Eastwood if he signs) must be on £90k+ per year basic, and that's without bonuses.

Oops missed a decimal place on the calculator. My bad!!

In that case I retract my last statement as Mohsni is probably worth the gamble as a matchwinner unless we got offered silly money for him.

Count me in on that - In fact if it was a choice between retaining either Eastwood or Moshni I would go with Moshni (but of course want both)

I wouldn't. Mohsni is unlikely to re-sign with us and if this is the case then we'd be mad not to cash in now (as long as the fee is at least £200k+) as his value is only going to decrease from here. Clubs like ours can't afford to let good players leave for nothing (a la Gower/Peter Clarke etc).

If Bilel was happy to sign a new deal I'd say definitely keep him but if this isn't the case we should sell for a fair price. Yes we'll miss him on the pitch but IMHO if Eastwood signs plus a decent keeper/CM we have more than enough quality to get out of this league with or without Bilel.

I think we would do well to get £250k for him, and make sure it's before the 20th July, when Ramadan starts. A grumpy Mohsni is not going to be good for his market value, and there's not much time at the other end of Ramadan before the transfer window shuts for him to generate lucrative interest, even if he carries on last season's form.

According to Sheffield fansite Owstalk, Dave Jones has confirmed that he is not interested in signing Mohsni.

I love watching Mosh play however I just dont see where he will fit in this season, PS doesn't trust him at CB and now with Cresswell coming in i'd imagine are back 4 will be Clohessy, Phillips, Cresswell, Straker.
Hall and Hurst will both be on the wings for the new season with Leonard and Martin as cover and with Barry Corr and hopefully Freddy all Mosh will be doing is sat on the bench and maybe an impact sub. I say we should cash in on him now unless PS wishes to put him in CM with Timlin.

I'd really like to see Leonard partner Timlin in the middle think that would work really well
