Will you renew

Personally for me I think it's money well spent. I love the club and I don't think £350 is a lot really in the grand scheme of things for 23 days/nights out.

I feel were on the field moving in the right direction and I want to see how we do next season. I will renew but then I think I will renew until I am no more so I'm possibly not a true cross section.

Yep down to 14th now....

Statement from The Trust:

The Shrimpers Trust believe that a price increase, both for season tickets and in terms of matchday prices, at Southend United for the 2011/12 season was inevitable given the financial situation at the club stated by chief executive Tara Brady in his interview with BBC Essex earlier in the season.
The Trust were consulted by the Football Club, and we advised that we believed a matchday price of £20 would be acceptable given the necessity to recoup some of the losses sustained by the club on a monthly basis. It was also our opinion that season ticket prices, offering in essence around six free matches, should be built around this level.

The prices announced by the Club today are higher than expected. The Trust were not aware of the final proposals and any suggestion that we were consulted should be tempered with that knowledge. Had any later consultation occurred, we would have argued against the final figures. The Club have a difficult balancing act with regards to ticket pricing, and the amounts released today leave supporters with a difficult personal decision as to whether they renew their season ticket cards for next season.

so they charge us £21 for a matchday ticket instead of £20 like it was meant to be.

If anybody pays their money by April they want shooting...All that will do is keep RM in the life style he is accustomed to......The man has ripped the pants out of SUFC IMO and still there are those that support him

The mind boggles.

The club obviously needs more money , but the answer does not necessarily mean increasing season ticket prices, as the basic law of economics concerning supply and demand applies to SUFC as well as everybody else.
As to those of you who believe that paying extra for your ticket will help save our club, then I truly wish that I could believe that this would solve the problems but :

1.With the upcoming AGM reporting losses of in excess of £2m for the last accounting period till 2009

We all know whats going to happen. Ron is desperate for this money to keep the HMRC off our backs. The money for Luggy will be ZERO, Mohsni, Hall, Grant likely to leave (maybe some more) and the youths will plug the gaps and it will be a real struggle. I predict we will not make a single signing in the summer. Call me foolish but that is my gut feeling. After two successive seasons of wage problems, court appearances, it is not surprising that 43 (and then some) players turned us down. Yes we got some in the summer but most of those were on the scrap heap and no doubt hoodwinked by Rons talk of promotion and the new stadium. Both those dreams are dead in the water.

and that will be martins excuse as why no players have been brought in for next season, players do not want to come here if their not going to get paid on time and the agents will not even talk to the club.

2.Adding the accumulated losses since
3.TB revealing we are losing £100,000 a month still

then I believe an increase in season ticket prices will be a drop in the ocean.
Lets hope Sainsburys dont run out of patience or God help us.

Already made this point earlier.......
I thought we were told that once work started on the new ground this would release further income to go towards the running of the club. So once work starts on the ground in a few weeks then all will be o.k. won't it? Some people on here seem pretty sure that the AGM has been arranged to announce the good news that work will be starting.

For those who are unhappy about the season ticket rise.........have or will you let Ron know your opinion?

Err, matchday tickets are £21 (or £19 in advance) - so that seems in line with the Trusts recommendation.

Season tickets have always been a saving on around 5-6 games free a year.

23 games less 6 = 17 games x £20 = £340

So the Trust are making a denial over the sake of £10?

I think the Trust fall into every trap they are asked to fall into by Ron & co. After handing over £60k and very nearly getting knocked, they should have realised they were being set up to justify an increase. What was wrong with qualified feedback such as if we are still in League 2 they should be the frozen & if we get promoted the an extra £2 rise would be acceptable?
They have to remember that they are the keenest of our fans and would probably attend come what may. Whereas the floating fans are much more fickle and price sensitive.

if we were in league one next season i would gladly pay between £400-£450 for a season ticket but league two, pffffffttt.

My point is that with the massive debts that the club has accrued, has our club any future at all- plain and simple as that, increased season ticket prices or not.

think he will find out on his own when their are 3,000 fans at home games like macclesfield if were lucky.

Fair enough but it wont effect Ron. He will have his excuse to build us a tin pot 6,000 seater stadium and get rid of us from roots hall on the cheap.

Is the £350 for existing season ticket holders only?? I am unable to open the attachment on the official site, and if not how much for a new season ticket holder, but purchasing early .. TIA..

£350 for renewals and new season card holders, before April 23rd.

Definatly not renewing our two season tickets.

The more season tickets we sell quote is a classic. Going by what people are saying on here, there will be a lot less sold. Meaning Sturrock will have very little money (if any) to do anything.

Imagine joining a brand new gym, asking what equipment they have got and they tell you if we sell out, all our membership cards you will get an all singing all dancing workout facility. If we dont sell many membership cards you can have a set of dumbells and a workout matt. Would you join ? of course you wouldnt.

Get a couple of decent signings in first and i may be tempted to renew.

That comment pretty much sums up for me where Martin is, not only with the fans, but with business as well.

Very few remain who'll take him on his word including many of us fans, local businesses, HMRC, Tara Brady (allegedly) etc etc etc...

You can only break promises so many times before people think you're a dishonest swindler, for that reason I wont be buying a season ticket.
