Ok … sorry to say it folks as of today there is no Australian with a current deal there to be agreed and there is no single fella from Oz who has the funds or the investors waiting to buy the club .. we will not be brought by the next court date and RON has no means to pay and WILL NOT be paying before any court date … it’s the council or bus as of today, however via the latest tweet that councillor Tony cox will not be providing financial support for Southend United then we simply are ****ing doomed

Sadly as the clock ticks downs this seems to be the truth of the matter.

He will have to find the money then to pay it.

It is incredibly worrying though how we haven't heard anything positive about the takeover/sale since probably July.

Great job folks, whoever put this together :Worthy: :LoyalSupporter:

Probably God.. God of the rats Ron. If Southend Council can rescue the club we need to change the ground name from Roots Hall to Town Hall.

For me they are really the only show in town, can actively put a spanner in Ron's pension pot plan if he let's the club fold so must have some leverage to get the rat out

Yeah, but does sound feasible given the luck we are having. I wouldn't dismiss out of hand tbh

We be nice for the city council to loan the shrimpers trust the money al be it a bridging loan .But how does that get rid of Ron unless the HMRC debt is payed off .Then hopefully a buyer will step in febt free .
Look at tomorrow's Echo.
It could be only £1m needed. The Council have sound reasons to step in with the loan to shrimpers Trust.

😡 Deeply frustrating that the leader of Southend Council, Cllr Tony Cox, is emailing saying that no financial support will be given to SUFC/ Roots Hall as a result of the ‘Labour’ motion as he’s now calling it… he’s going against the decision of the whole council!!

Maybe the pressure should be on the council, not just Martin. After all they’re not blameless in our failure to build a new ground over the years. Now they’re stepping in, but is it too little too late?

Please don’t play ‘party politics’ with our clubs future Mr Cox, or anyone else looking to score cheap points, whatever your party. Either you want to help or not. If you don’t be brave enough to just say it, and don’t try to shift blame onto other political parties.

Anyone got his email by the way? I might compose a diplomatic message along similar lines!
