The Clarke one does feel a tad hasty, but it's worth remembering he's only won nine of his last 41 games.

I wonder if they would be struggling if Lukaku decided to go on loan with them for another season?

They've spent a lot of money as well.

Have they?

Only signings they have made that have required a transfer fee were Anichebe and Sessegnon. Total of about £12m which is nothing for Premiership now a days. Also worth pointing out how much control Clarke had over these signings. He was quite critical of the club's transfer dealings in August and these deals along with the Anelka one (bet he is on a decent wage too) were deadline day deals.

He is probably suffering from overachieving last season. Finishing 8th was amazing although it seems like they've tried to replace Lukaku with Anichebe which wasn't going to work.

I saw WBA at Fulham in September.I thought they were an awful footballing team (though they did nick an 89th minute equaliser from a corner).
I doubt if they'll find a better manager (for them )than Clarke though.
With WBA,W.Ham and Palace (not to mention Sunderland)all in the mix Fulham should be safe this season.:whistling:

Transfer fees don't tell the whole story though. Wages were at 75% of turnover last season and will be higher this year. They spend enough that they should have picked up more than 31 points in a year. It's relegation stuff.

If you are referring to this, then you mean the 2011/12 season and not last season. There were a fair amount of players leaving in the summer of 2012 with not many coming in.

The percentage of turnover doesn't mean anything. What really matters is they were the 15th highest spenders on wages in the league and finished 10th that season.

Wonder if the bookies are taking in some money on AVB getting the chop after that result.

What matters is that they have won 31pts in a year. You manage a club to 31pts in a year and you get sacked.

Yet they still finished 8th last season and are on course to stay up this season. They also have 3 more games in 2013 with 2 of them being very winnable.

They are on a poor run of form, but sacking the manager is not always the answer especially when he seems to have the respect and support of the squad.

He is now a very strong favourite at around 1/4 to be next PL manager to go.

No surprise. His odds went to well under evens after the Man City game.

Strange response by him in an interview when asked about the signings made. Certainly sounded like some were made without his consent.

Mr Levy deserves everything he gets,Sacking Harry was mad then allowing the TD to select transfer targets over AVB's head was shocking.
