but you can borrow 180k against your house and drive off in a ferrari - even buy yourself a footballer..
controlling - not owning Roots Hall is the cash cow...
anyway i actually think RM was right all along - he just had to play very dirty (not pay certain people) to hang on until the first money arrived.
SUFC - and us the supporters are RMs lever to get planning and a done deal on RH. I remain convinced he wanted relegation from league 1.
keep the insults coming ..
So lets get this right, he wanted relegation from league 1 and has, in your words, assembled a massive expensive squad with a premiership manager to get us promoted.
A little contradictory eh?
yep - he was broke-ish in lge 1 - but during the course of the last season there he must have been negotiating with Sainsburys and have known when first funds/credit facility/whatever would delivered.... .....
Not paying players, manager, taking the club down a league was small price for the BIG one with the nations favourite grocer....
For all we know now he might be doubling his money with penalty payments from sainsburys and big wadge from a cheap skate rival.....
Never ever was SUFC, Roots Hall, planning permission on a greenfeild site all tied together be anything that a winning hand ... and SUFC with its popular political clout in the town is what makes it all hang together..

At first I thought you were serious and then I read the line about SUFC and political clout in the town. :hilarious: Thats a good one !
Sorry I must have missed something, why was it better for the deal with Sainsbury's if we were relegated that season? I know you mentioned that before.
Of course some people think he just rang up sainsburys and everything was sorted out one afternoon and couple of weeks later a cheque came through the door

Do you also have the answers to the JFK and 9/11 questions?
Majestic 12 and Ganglians
cut costs to the bone - clear out all liabilities (players contracts) - downsize everything maximise the margin for when
the money came thru in start of league 2 ......

Do you mean the vastly reduced sum of money along with a very real chance that we would go into division 5? What you're doing is making the actual circumstances fit your version of what has actually transpired. You're not giving any thought at all to what may have happened if a) we had stayed in L1, b) the stadium had progressed sooner, c) we had been relegated out of L2, d) had someone other than Sturrock been appointed... e) and so on. The list is endless.
would the extra income from not being in the bottom division for 4 seasons not outweigh the benefits of cancelling player contracts?cut costs to the bone - clear out all liabilities (players contracts) - downsize everything maximise the margin for when
