i think it sickly that rons stuck out this email and everyone is sweetness and light all of a sudden.

I think it's sickly how loads of people have believed every word the Echo has printed over the last few days, when it was clear that there were already some big inaccuracies. (For example the gate receipts at Spinners testimonial match).

The Echo has grossly exaggerated a half story and put it on the front and back pages. For what reason? To sell papers.

Journalists, Estate agents, Timeshare salesman, Bob the builder....

We have one centre-half who is half fit, one who has one league start in his career, a midget left back who has been frozen out this season and who looked out of his depth last year, a narcaliptic right back and a much maligned reserve right back who has also been frozen out all season. I doubt even fbm could defend that lot ;)

That is true - I'm taking a step back on this & reserving judgement.
I think he's had to come out & say something, mainly to avoid the AGM turning into nothing but a free-for-all tonight but also hopefully to try & get at least half the crowd back on side before tomorrow night!

i agree. though i feel what he actually needed to address as a priority were mr kings comments. to brush off what he said as a generic comment is laughable.

Couple of things...

* If we owed Spencer only £4,000 - surely that is worse that we havent paid it?

* Instead of giving Little Havens £10k (that we need - sorry Havens!), just pay Prior his £4,000 and give £4,000 to Little Havens.

Fair play to him for doing that though.

* Millwall - £200k for Macca? Need to sign up to some Millwall boards and see if they know anything as I'm still skeptical.

* Swindons bid for Revell came in Sunday? I watched Revells interview on Swindows Player and he said he knew on the Saturday before the game that he would be going to Swindon. Illegal approach then, or BS from Ron?

It's true our defence isn't great.

What I think will be interesting is seeing Herd play at left back on Friday. He can't be anywhere near match fit, at least for a L1 game, so will probably look great for 10 mins or so and then understandably fail badly for the rest of the match.

I hope our fans do not get on his back and I hope Tilly isn't looking for an excuse to say 'I told you he wasn't ready for first team football'.

Where is the "PR stunt" - he has a right to reply and it seems the original allegations were based on a pack of newspaper selling bollocks. If you can prove otherwise, come out and do it.

First off - THAT, Mr. King, is a lesson in how to talk to people. Maybe you should just be banned from opening your mouth?

Secondly, I agree with Rich and Beefy. A part of me says that RM's statement is fantastic, openly frank, and to a certain extent believeable; the Echo would certainly write sensationalistic articles in order to sell more copies, that's what they have to do. But then a part of me also says, despite Chris Phillips being a pretty untalented sensationalistic 'journalist', there is no smoke without fire when it comes to what's been printed.

I'm leaning ever so slightly towards believing what Ron says, but I will reserve judgement for now. I think and really hope that a lot more information will come out at the AGM to put us firmly 'in the know'.

Ron strongly implies that for FINANCIAL reasons we are putting players pout on loan in order to pay for 'better' players. This is different to earlier statements that suggested that we were going to make our squad bigger.

Ron doesn't state that Macca is not for sale- OBL will not be happy !
I wonder what figure we would accept, and how much of that cash will then become available to Tilly? This would certainly resolve the Sawuer/Macca questions os the last few weeksd (sorry OBL)
