I'm guessing he means in regards to his performances, not sure thats a huge deal though.

Well if it is solely performances then PS has already told BBC Essex today that RR has "great talent" even if his fitness isn't up to standard. Guess we'll just have to wait and see, one thing's for sure we will still definitely need a striker regardless of whether Ricketts signs.

I do understand the calls for a striker (or two!) but RR can easily play off the front man. Watch his highlight reel on YouTube, especially the wolves stuff, he was always central and popping shots off.

I reckon a fit and firing ricketts in league two is gonna get 10-15 goals. As Beefy always says (think it's him) that it doesn't matter if you have the oft sort after "20 goals a season" man... Doesn't guarantee success.

Didn't matter how many forwards tilson bought in, we very rarely improved. We are shaping up to play 433 and the central striker will be Harris for now, hall and JJ either side, but I'd go with 2 anchoring midfield types and play RR behind Harris, like a 4231. Hopefully Corr will be back within a few weeks of the season starting and Blair too.

I have a sneaky feeling Asante will come good this season too - do we really need 2 more first team forwards? If PS is insisting so, then perhaps Corr and Blair are in more trouble than reported. In summary; sign ricketts and 1 other forward if needs be.

Yep then if we loan any out we can loan in i.e Asante, Crawford or any of the first year boys.

If we sign a decent '1st team' level striker, I'd release Blair (assuming he is m-t-m), loan out Crawford and keep Asante on for now to cover Corr.

Then we'd have Harris, A.N.Other, Asante and Corr to come back - plus in reality, we should have goals from Hall, JJ and RR in the forward positions.

Got to agree, I don't think we need two more strikers, one for sure. Not when we already have Corr & Harris plus Blair & JJ, even if Paterson left and both Asante & Crawford went on loan. With Corr & Harris already here and surely first choices it's got to be a striker who will be mostly happy to be on the bench, it'll be hard enough finding one of them let alone two.

I would prefer a striker & a winger rather than 2 strikers aswell.

RR just tweeted to say he hopes the "deal is sorted today" and he has some news once he speaks to his agent later... :omg::happy:

Trying not to get my hopes up only for him to sign for Stevenage.

Despite the reports of his poor performances at the weekend I would still love to sign Ricketts.

Woop! Let's hope so. I don't care what he did over the weekend. His talent isn't in question and neither is his attitude IMO. Get him fully match fit and fully settled in with his new team mates and the system and I still believe he'll be something else for us.

What he said.

Let's just hope it's for us. Reckon if we sign him then Asante will be out on loan and if Paterson should leave then that should leave us with enough for another striker.

Sounds like bad news from the Agent (and for us)...

"You can go out and perform on trial and give your all. The fans can then be excited about you signing but it all comes down to an agreement."

Update:

"I hope we can reach an agreement between me and SUFC. I have shown my commit by traveling to Scotland when I could have gone to another club"
