Well my first away league game was in 95ish at the Valley. We won 3-0 with goals from Tilly, Thomson and maybe Dublin (?). Leo Roget made his first start. I thought every away game would be like that.

Yeh Bolton Shrimper-remember that game-size of the crowd scared the life out of me. My first game was at start of that same season-played Clyde in friendly and lost 3-1. Next friendly, lost 4-2 to Charlton, thought this doesn't bode well for the future!!!

Yep, was Keith Dublin.

It was one of those nights when everything went for us, not just that donkey Keith ****ing Dublin scoring but I think Tilly even scored with his right foot

Andy Thomson's goal is one of my all-time favourites. Happy, happy days.

I also remember getting home in time to see the extended highlights, which made it look as if we only had three attacks all night whilst Charlton pounded us. LWT(?) basically showed every clip of Charlton crossing the halfway line, even if it ended with a tame cross drifting straight out of play, whilst I think they even edited out us hitting the woodwork.

I think we lost 2-0 at home to QPR, John Spencer the little rat was playing and winding up the crowd.. think was 1995, and I was part of the 'Telewest Club' sat in the corner of the West Stand.. was only at primary school, but that started the love affair... used to borrow just £4 to get into the South Lower every game.

I also went into school saying that 'Trevor Fitzpatrick' was the best player ever! ...

And its still only £4 in the South Lower for children. I know we were in a higher divison then, but for the price to be the same as 16 years ago is pretty good.

Brentford away 0-4 (88-89 relegation season) first game

I was there. Chucked it down with rain and we were moved from the open terrace behind the goal to a covered are along the side of the pitch. It was still throwing it down as we walked to the tube station after the game. I can't believe you came back!

It was dire...IIRC they were all over us in the first half but Sammy had a blinder to keep it at 0-0...then the floodgates opened in the second half. I don't recall us being in their half. I lived in London then and being in very early teens there weren't many games I could get to so Brentford was one I could get to easily. On the plus side went there again 2 years later and saw Benjy's goal win it for us when on the balance of play we could have lost 4-0 again!
