3-1 vs Hereford in April 1986 I seem to remember Roy McDonough and Barry Silkman being amongst the goal scorers.

Same result on Saturday will do me fine!

My first game was against Doncaster in the 03-04 season in january. we lost 2-0. Two goals by the same player. Missed quite a few chances in that game i think.

Lost 0-1 to Chelsea in the League Cup - Chris Garland scored their goal.

Went to the gane as a 9 year old Chelsea supporter and left as a Southend supporter - the rest is history!!

1946 At the Greyhound Stadium Sutton Road.a 3-1 win against Walsall.Little did i realise that was the beginning of a love affair with Southend United

Lost 1-0 to Kingstonion (sp?) in the cup. Can remember having to stand as we couldn't get to our seats, but still enjoyed it.

3 - 2 win against Bristol Rovers with a John McKinven hat trick back in the days only the likes of Canveyshrimper and Mr Blue will recall.

A 2-1 demolition of Scunthorpe in front of a bumoer 2,974 crowd. Probably should have been 2,975 as i am fairly certain my Dad sneaked me in for free

First ever game, watching my hero Gil Merrick was the horrible 1-6 reverse against Birmingham City in the FA Cup, 26th January 1957, nearly 29,000....start of a lengthy and never to end love affair.

First game I remember, though I think my dad took me along a few times before, was a defeat to Millwall 2-0 in 65/66 season

0-1 FA Cup defeat to this weekend's opposition Hereford, the only game we lost at home that Championship winning season of 1981/82 :stunned:

Well i have to click the can't recall option i remember the FA Cup v Dover in 1975 (3-0 i think) but not sure if it was my first.

18th March 1991. Southend 2 - 1 Birmingham City. The result took Southend 6 points clear at the top of the old Division 3, and kept us on course for promotion. The winner was a glorious header from Bretty Angell in front of the North Bank, leaping like a salmon to head in a Chrissy Powell cross. And a good ole "reverse" for good measure - 1-0, to 2-1 up. There's even a report on the excellent SUFCDB - thanks to Robin Michel for that one!

The North Bank went bananas, and a love affair - mine with Southend United - was born.
