I am sure that it will not be 451
Prob 442 with a makeshift striker , Possibly switching to 4411 with maybe King or Bridge sitting behind the Remaining striker .

If Brown decides to go for a younger striker on the Bench, will Norman get the nod in front of Jason, or will JW finally get another chance ?

Still fondly remembered at Newcastle ;

" Only two weeks after Nile Ranger was handed an astonishing long-term deal by Southend United, he found himself charged with fraud and money laundering earlier this week.Despite the charges though, as ever, nothing really seems to faze the former Newcastle United waster.

Southend had given Nile Ranger a contract until summer 2020 and he was selected to play on Saturday (yesterday).
It was the player’s 11th League One appearance of the season and he responded by scoring after only 18 minutes as Southend beat Oldham 2-0 away from home.
What’s more, the excellent finish ended up being voted Sky Sports’ goal of the day.
Using his Twitter account, after news of the police charges was made public, Nile Ranger had said the ‘only time I’m at peace’ is on the football pitch and in a message to the media covering his latest arrest, said ‘stick that in your papers’ after yesterday’s goal."

It looks as if Geordies bear grudges long after former players have gone. Perhaps it's down to their inability to remain in the Pemiership for very long? Difficult to say really as I could never understand a word thee locals said when I worked there.

Or will he go the Keith Dublin route ? OMG:Scared2::Scared2::Scared2::Scared2:

Although it is good to hear that Cox could be fit for the Xmas period, when he played alongside Fortune at Millwall we did look very powderpuff in front of goal. Ranger is the catalyst for our success in past couple of months and our style of play, therefore it is a nervous wait to see how long he is out for.

Hines can also play down the middle. Actually started for Spammers on 2-3 occasions there and about 15 times in total. Suspect this will be tried to in training- suspect he is a better finisher than McGlashan.

I think with Cox maybe playing an hour and with both McGlashan and now Hines available it could be looking worse.

It might be better to change the system for the players that are available now rather than play square pegs in round holes just to keep the formation the same?

Maybe go 4-3-3 / 4 5 1 with McLaughlin and Hines/McGlashan supporting Fortune from wider positions and dropping back into midfield when we lose the ball. I'd imagine that will be our plan B if Brown does keep it the same anyway.

I find that reminding them of the game on 1st January 1992 (?) rather calms the situation ..........

to be fair, you never really understood much of anything when you worked.........

ten days to two weeks wouldn't be a catastrophy. I just hope and pray it's not one of those injuries that become three weeks, four weeks, five weeks..............

I worry more that it's not going to be a case of supply and demand for both Ranger and Cox. It's becoming obvious that both are prone to injury and this has to be balanced against our need to have both available for as many games as possible. Get them properly fit or get them out there for the next game, that's the dilemma. We need another proper forward in the next window if we have pretentions towards the play-offs.

Those two are a class act when together. Such a shame they are both injury prone. Perhaps we need another experienced striker that isn't so injury prone. Noel Hunt ?
