And Corbyn has promoted a convicted arsonist and football hooligan to his front bench ,which happens to be true, not the old bollocks you seem to be having such a wheeze over.

For balance - the arsonist was drunk and set fire to some curtains in a hotel and it was put out by staff. He went to prison for it. No one is going to defend that by 'arsonist' makes it sound like something more dramatic.

The football hooligan:
'I was arrested for football hooliganism, they said I ran towards 500 Manchester United supporters to try and start a fight,' he said in an interview in 2005.

'I know I'm a big lad, but I'm not stupid. They arrested me and threw me in the van and assaulted me. I had to have part of my ear stitched... One of them spat in my face.'
He was fined in 1985.

So both have been punished and moved on. I hope that if Mr Cameron is found to have lied about tax statuses then he will be punished and allowed to move on. If any of the claims against him are not true I'm sure he will seek punishment too.

Apparently sources who were part of the club (or knew about it) said he wasn't ever involved.

stinks of sour grapes and there's a very clear motive.

even if it happened, as long as it didn't happen during his time as PM (or even an MP) then it's no more newsworthy than digging into JC 's (or any other top political figure) past. We all have skeletons in our closets, and those who don't have lived boring lives.

Indeed what you do with your skeletons in your own privacy is your own business. Probably more hygienic than a dead pig too.:pig:

According to YouGov asking 2,700 people, most feel the same as me if it does turn out to be true. 25% say it matters.

Of course it doesn't really matter. But to think the Press, the opposition and the general public won't make a meal out of it is unrealistic and pretty naive - it's a golden opportunity to take the ****. Look at the hard time they gave Miliband for struggling to just put a bit of bacon in his mouth - the parallels don't even need spelling out.

Even if it's probably complete bobbins, it's a crack(l)ing story!

That's the thing. The (right wing) media have decided that they're going to turn on Cameron and it's pretty clear it's the beginning of the end of his reign as PM. Whether he goes for the next 4 years, or decides to call a leadership election fairly soon, the media have moved on and are paving the way for Johnson, Gideon etc.

It'll be May if Cameron's gone within this term I would've thought. Gideon's wreaking the desired havoc at the Treasury and Boris isn't ready.

The whole drugs thing is a bit of non-story. I mean, entitled **** indulges knowing he'll never face repercussions isn't exactly news. But jamming your wang into a dead pig? That's some Champions League debauchery right there. If anything, I'm more likely to vote for him now then I was when I thought he was just your bog standard hater of the poor.

To be fair about the drugs thing, Cameron used to be quite open to the idea of reforming drug laws and policies (before he was leader), but completely reversed that position. Seems more than just a bit hypocritical now that it comes out that he used to smoke weed. I don't give a **** if politicians used to smoke weed or do certain other drugs while at uni. To be honest, I wouldn't care at all if he still smoked the odd joint. However being increasingly draconian about drug laws is just hypocritical (and continues to fail, from a public policy perspective).

I'm sure the old rich are up to all sorts - I'm sure defling a pigs head is probably quite tame to what some of them get up too. Apparently Princes Harry & Wills were up to all sorts of things during their school days that would land lesser folk in serious trouble. Daddy's old school tie, a few quid bunged in a few envelopes and it all goes away.

Boys will be boys!

The thing with an episode like this is that it doesn't come along very often, especially when it is the incumbent of No 10 and someone with different political views to you. When it happens you just have to gorge yourself until the pips squeak - it would be very rude not to and the opportunity to do it again may be a long time coming. Childish? - yep, incredible fun? - absolutely.

Something was bothering me about your otherwise fantastic post but now I have attended to it.
