Lenny might be back on Monday to strengthen his bid for player of the year,
Ranger has been marvellous.
Anton - so steady and reliable except for the injury niggles.
Thommo - continues to be a key part of the team.
Wordy - back from a poor spell and back scoring
Fortune - comes back onto the pitch ........... and scores. Fabtastic.
Cox - 15 goals so far and still going strong.
It's tricky for sure.
Here's my opinion.
Leonard - Not enough of the spectacular, but his role doesn't always allow that. Never out through injury.
Ranger - not enough appearances but as said, marvelous. Strong, skillful, trouble for any defender.
Ferdinand - again, not enough appearances. Classy, reads the game so well.
Thommo - the odd dodgy pass! Ball-winner.
Wordsworth - that poor run of form has scuppered his chance...or has it? Plenty of goals - we like that!
Fortune - again, not enough appearances. Intelligent player, full of goals and tricks that work.
Cox - Some anonymous games. As Fortune.
Atkinson - doesn't get forward quite enough. He never gives less than his all.
But hey - isn't it great that we have that many strong contenders? I'm glad I don't have to choose!
Ferdinand has played 33 games; how many appearances do you need to warrant enough!!!!
Personally I think it's a close call between Cox, Leonard, Thompson and Ferdinand - I'm siding with Ferdinand, not only does he read the game very well but the difference it's made to the whole side since he came in has been massive
Oh I didn't realise he played that many.
Fair enough - I knew he hasn't played 40, but was pretty sure it was a lot, but had to check
My vote will go to Lenny for this year although I am hoping that the POTY curse does not affect him.
I think Cox, Thompson and Ferdinand will be very strong contenders and it could be any one of those four
Anton for me, the change in the defence after he stepped in was massive and I love watching him, never seems to get out of second gear but positions himself so we'll that he doesn't have to.
The good thing about Anton is that he able to put that extra yard in when he has to. On the 12 minute vid from Saturday there is a grate example in the first Half.
I know football isn't all about scoring goals, but Cox is my pick. He's been a class act. But it's a close run thing. You cannot ignore the contributions of the likes of Wordsworth, Leonard and Ferdinand, who have all been fantastic.
Yep. Between these four for me. Thompson has come on tremendously but he's not quite to this level yet. Most improved player? Definitely Thompson.
