Planning Updates- All The Latest Details. 28/03/2022

True but it does rubber stamp some people's suspicions that the money propping up our stadium deal will not be loaned to someone like Ron.
Well I think that was obvious in the first place, what government is going to loan money to someone that stole money from them lol

We have to remember that the treasury via Homes England would be lending £30 mill to a company and not to Ron. (The treasury are already down £5 mill as a result of their dealings with Ron so far).

The housing ministry will be desperate for this to go ahead to help with meeting housing targets. What they will be looking for now will be a way to enable this to go ahead, without the danger of any blame attaching itself to them should the whole thing go breasts north. It is interesting that Ron has only recently removed himself from the board of directors.

Bearing mind the likely media frenzy should anything go wrong, this is going to be a very tough call for someone in the civil service.

Some people on here really need to take a chill pill. Just because they are saying it is not a guarantee 1 doesn’t mean it won’t happen and 2 doesn’t mean funding has not been discussed by other methods etc. Lawyers and numerous other professionals have been involved in the project and will have a much better understanding of it. I highly suspect many of the fans commenting on the back of something that they have instantly taken in a negative view have not idea around what has/hasn’t been agreed with stadium, houses, training ground etc and have little to no idea of what is required for large scale protects. The government need the housing and there is no way whatsoever they get anywhere near their own target without this project.

Thank you.

People hear one thing every single time and think it's the end of everything, they read WAY too much into it without knowing the actually inside and outs and overall facts.

It's all just one massive jump to conclusions every time they are the word 'Fossetts'.

We were told that funding was agreed and that as soon as the stadium and housing was agreed and local and of needed national level then it would be funds released time.

It sounds as though that isn't the case at all. So, either something has changed or the original information was innacuate.

People say take a chill pill etc but it's the same old. Smoke and mirrors and further hurdles.

Well, perhaps if our owner engaged with the fanbase in an open and honest way, fans wouldn't need to jump to conclusions because they'd already have the facts

Is there any way this leads to Ron selling up now that he has planning permission? He isn't getting any younger and it'd be a way to ensure his family is set up if his case goes badly

I really do hope so. If he loves the club (as he says) and has any respect for the supporters, I think he should at least open it up to offers.

Do you mean sell the land, as it is, with the planning permission? I have no idea of land values, but it certainly sounds like an option for him.
