SUFC: The Future New 2024/25 kit - sponsored by c2c rail - officially released and available from club shop

Quite a few years back in hearns day, orient started making their own kit via localised firms set up or appointed by Hearn over which the club not only could control production costs sizing and supply but also provided profit from the income that fed back into the club.
I'm sure between the 11 entrepreneurial cosu members, one or two must have the connections and ability to make something similar happen next season.
I made this comment many months ago, whereas the Club could, with very little outlay, set up it's own small production unit catering for the large majority of Club items to sell. Also it gives the Club an almost instant reaction to what is selling fast or the items that are slow in being sold. As long as the sizing is on the model of M&S that would eliminate many of issues surrounding sizing.
Even issues such as Badges/Logos etc can be overcome quite quickly. This type of machine would pay for itself very quickly.
Lastly all profits would go directly into the club. Any labour required would come from the local area, as Southend use to have a large textile industry.

Had an email today to say my order has been processed so I’m taking this as ready to collect from the shop 👍🏼👍🏼
Me too popped in this afternoon and collected.

Think this is a first batch - so id say if you haven't had email probably not in shop yet

Nah, touch screens though....

Have been told we'll 'get a call' when the kits are back in... not holding my breath (nothing against the staff, but have been told similar before and calls never came)

I have sympathy with the club shop staff here a bit. I know it can seem a little vague to the customer to be told along the lines off "you will get a call" or "we will let you know"

I'm in that trade and trust me shipping dates have the goalposts moved on them all over the place. Macron is dispatched from Italy and we have all sorts of delays now when consignments arrive in the UK ever since Brexit.

You equally wouldn't be happy if someone in the shop gave you an exact date and then it moved, which is equally frustrating.

Brexit has not made it easy for international brand partners.

Did we have the same problem with the Hummel kits?

Let's hope any future deals are done with UK based suppliers and then this problem will go away.

We had huge issues with Hummel as that was during Covid as well but what did help was that was sold completely online where it's much easier to keep a check of your stock. The club shop was closed that season.

There is a local firm called Happystride that make funky running kit, all modern fabrics and very innovative.
Hi Tec is still based at Aviation Way. New Balance are in UK.
Who knows how much the club gets from Macron BUT whatever amount it is, is not in my opinion enough; NOR is the continuing stock issues being addressed. The reality is Macron have made us some great kits BUT the numbers they have made available to purchase is incompetent and almost insulting.

They were also selling our shirts through other websites too which I don't think the club was too happy with!

I was concerned at the meet the consortium evening when kits were mentioned.

There was a smattering of disdain from the crowd, Tom was very, very defensive of Macron and was a bit put out by the feedback.

Appreciate we were bang in trouble at that point so a deal probably had to be done to ensure we had something.

However, if they have agreed to anything longer than this season with Macron, that's potentially a very bad decision from the club.

SUFC want our feedback and the feedback is resounding.

To quote the late, great Owen Hart:

"Enough is enough and it's time for a change"

Please anyone post up if they know about kit availability in-store. We're desperately hoping to get our 8 year old the full third strip for Christmas...
