national league

I just want to throw a question out there ... and please answer honestly.

How many of you will reduce the number of the games they will go to next season ?

I personally might find myself going to more ! in terms of grounds I've never been to, the national league has some really interesting away trips ....

My biggest concern .... We will never come back and its a real possibility. the league is a graveyard as someone else put.
In respect of new grounds to visit,no change for me as things stand:
3 in League 2: Barrow,Harrogate,Salford
3 in National League: Eastleigh,Kings Lynn,Weymouth.

Not been to Kings Lynn.

Weymouth and Eastleigh are excellent grounds.

Let’s have it right, IF this gets voted for and we stay in the football league on a technicality, it’s absolutely no course for celebration. Although I’d be very much relieved, it’s also a “get out of jail” card for Ron Martin and his **** day to day running of this football club.

Absolutely but if ever there was an outcome suited that smelt of Tefron then that's it.

Earlier today the National League says it is contacting the Government in an attempt to change their current policy of offering loans to instead giving grants to each club. If they are successful then they will probably carry on playing. This saga could run and run.

And if he gets planning permission he will either sell up or pit some dosh into the side for next season.

I hope he sells up as much for him as us, it's our best chance of having the stadium finished on time

If it gets cancelled we can all just chill the **** out. Get out the cigars. MM can play some experimental free jazz line ups, maybe even with the team dressed up as animals.

Get out of jail card or, in my book, one of the few pieces of good luck we have had amid a **** storm of misfortune. I don't say Ron has done it all right but by the crack and cringe the stars aligned against him.

Not sure why so many of you are shocked at the prospect of NL. Since Ron took over, I think its about 24 clubs who were above us have dropped out of the league. Some have never come back. Others have come in and gone back out.

For a club thats overall position in the last 100 years is about 64th in the league its only a matter of time. Not many clubs have spent as many seasons as us in the lower leagues. Its always been a race against FF being passed.

The team finishing bottom by a long way in any division has to be careful the following season. With an all ready high wage bill and a cap imposed the problem hugely increased. No fans means we can't cheer or spend our way out of trouble and we aren't able to defend or score our way out of trouble. We seem to have sacked our way into trouble, so i'm not sure we can sack our way out of trouble.

As a last resort we have signed trouble to get out of trouble.

From BBC website:

"All 66 clubs in the three leagues will be sent a resolution for Monday's vote on whether to terminate the 2020-21 season - but the 23 teams in the National League will make their choice independently of the 43 who play in the North and South divisions.

BBC Sport understands the final wording of the resolution is yet to be agreed. However, it will provide a straight choice between ending the campaign now and continuing to a conclusion. The decision will be by a straight majority.

Technically, clubs have 28 days to respond but a final outcome is expected much earlier, although it is unclear how many will wait until after Tuesday's second meeting between Sport England and club officials before casting their votes.

Although a number of clubs - particularly at North and South level - have expressed opposition against continuing the season with the aid of long-term government-backed loans and continue to argue in favour of grants, it is understood there has been a slight softening of their position following a first meeting with Sport England on Friday."

So if they vote to call it off, Is there anything legal/in writing which states that relegation/promotion is null and void of would that decision have to go higher?.

only facts not opinions please.

Fact: Yes, subject to approval of FA.

This is how the voting works:

The National League has distributed resolutions this evening for Member Clubs to consider the outcome of the 2020/21 season.
The resolutions are formed of four parts: one Special Resolution and three Ordinary Resolutions based on the outcome of the first. A Special Resolution requires a 75% majority to be passed, whereas an Ordinary Resolution requires a more than 50% majority. Resolution 1 and 4 votes will be counted under prescribed voting conditions. Resolution 2 and 3 will be counted with one vote per Member Club.

Should Resolution 1 pass, Resolution 2 and 3 will be counted, with Resolution 4 disregarded. Should Resolution 1 be voted against, Resolution 4 will be counted, with Resolution 2 and 3 votes disregarded.

Under The National League’s Articles of Association, Member Clubs have 28 days to return voting submissions.

The resolutions are as follows:

Resolution 1 (All Clubs)

That Resolution 2 about whether to end the 2020/21 Playing Season of The National League (Step 1) be taken only by Clubs in the National League and that Resolution 3 about whether to end the 2020/21 Playing Season of the National League North and the National League South (Step 2) be taken only by Clubs that play in the National League North or the National League South with votes cast for Resolution 3 being counted on a one member, one vote basis for National League North and National League South Clubs.

Resolution 2 (National League Only)

That, conditional upon Resolution 1 being passed, the 2020/21 Playing Season of the National League (Step 1) shall immediately end on the date this Resolution 2 is passed and be declared null and void and subject to the approval of The Football Association, those Regulations that provide for promotion and relegation to and from Step 1 be suspended for the 2020/21 Playing Season.

Resolution 3 (National League North and South Only)

That, conditional upon Resolution 1 being passed, the 2020/21 Playing Season of the National League North and the National League South (Step 2) shall immediately end on the date this Resolution 3 is passed and be declared null and void and subject to the approval of The Football Association those Regulations that provide for promotion and relegation to and from Step 2 be suspended for the 2020/21 Playing Season.

Resolution 4 (All Clubs)

That, conditional upon Resolution 1 being passed, the 2020/21 Playing Season of the National League North and the National League South (Step 2) shall immediately end on the date this Resolution 3 is passed and be declared null and void and subject to the approval of The Football Association those Regulations that provide for promotion and relegation to and from Step 2 be suspended for the 2020/21 Playing Season.

So basically if all 3 leagues don't vote by 75% to let each league decide it comes down to a simple majority vote for all 66 clubs.

Even if they do decide by level then it requires more than 50% of the teams at each level to vote to continue.

There is no ppg, there is only null and void with no promotion or relegation
