national league

This is sufc we are talking about. 2 relegation in a row will take hit to the club and its fan base I think.

It didn't seem to affect Torquay's attendance when they went to the NL and then the NLS. They are 10 points clear at the top of the National League now so I guess they'll be voting for the division to continue.......

Dont really know torquay situation if I'm honest.

Let's be honest here their hasnt been much to be positive about sufc now let alone national league, plus most fans dont like ron..... so after 2 horrendous season where their been **** all to cheer about, I hardly see fans going in their numbers to roots hall for national league!

People who think MM will be ideal in the National League haven’t registered where Weymouth are I assume that was a project to and it’s not going to well there, you can’t say we took all their best players.

Luton went for the manager who had been successful in non league football, he got them out of it in his first season in charge.

They had been down there for 5 seasons. So the club had the experience and the money to make it count.

To get John Still away from Dagenham they offered him £200,000 per year.

They sacked him when they failed to go up from L1.

In fairness its tough managing Southend United and Weymouth in the same season. I've always felt he should choose one or the other.

Cant believe we are even talking in terms of " it might not be too bad in the National League" For gods sake what a disaster for this club, not that long ago in the Championship. It will simply be run into the ground by the present owner!

The difference that ex league club come back to League 2 from conference, that they appointed an manager who know non league stuffs, like Grimsby, Bristol Rovers & Lincoln, now Stockport & Torquay too.

MM non league background will help us to rebuild and get us back to League 2 stronger in next 3 season.

Rovers kept the manager they went down with, who brought them straight back, but yes its very rare nowadays. I think they were quite unlucky as well, had a bad run just at the wrong time and I think got relegated on the last day of the season on goal difference.

Clubs who go down in a mess like we're likely too often struggle to survive in the NL for the first year or so, and often drop another level. Stockport are a club who would see themselves as similar to us in terms of size, fan-base, history & so on, & they were stuck in the NLN for what 5 or 6 years?

Nowadays there is so little difference between L2 and the NL, if you want to get out of the NL at the top end you have to plan and budget just the same as you would to go up from L2. Any club that thinks dropping into the NL will give them a nice easy year to reset and come straight back up is going to be in for a nasty shock..

At various times during their non-league days and later,Luton seemed to be about to move to a new out-of-town ground ....they’re still hoping.....

hence a good idea to merge a north/south league of league 2 and national clubs

Southend United FC will just be another non league club like Aveley Town .... Most younger fans will drift away and become a premierships followers , old school followers will still go but cannot see SUFC bouncing back like Colchester did... many Non league clubs these days have big backers that have money to spend.

Massive loss to Southend and South Essex to us who have followed the club for 40 to 50 odd years

losing your League status is MASSIVE and be probably the death of the original club

Ron Martin knows he still make his Millions even if we folded as Roots Hall is already a gone and the council are backing him to knock it down whatever the league we are in

I believe they have finally got the green light. There's was slightly different as they wanted the commercial out by the M1 to fun a new ground near the town centre. Council thought it would take trade out of town but I think it has been solved.

Rubbish....They have a new stadium and astro pitch we don't.

I just want to throw a question out there ... and please answer honestly.

How many of you will reduce the number of the games they will go to next season ?

I personally might find myself going to more ! in terms of grounds I've never been to, the national league has some really interesting away trips ....

My biggest concern .... We will never come back and its a real possibility. the league is a graveyard as someone else put.

Give it a year or two and the novelty will wear off.

And if we don't bounce back sooner than later, I expect top crowds of 2000 to 3000

all this talk of Torquay they was getting under 1000 a couple of seasons back

Highly possible that they have seperate votes for the two tiers. Could see the National League continuing whilst the regional ones stop. Read somewhere that there 8 in favour to continue, 1 against and 1 abstaining known so far.
