Most talented Blues player you've ever seen

Bentley's Absurd Gait

Based purely on talent, not necessarily on their utilisation of that talent, my top five would be:

1. Ricky Otto
2. Stan Collymore
3. Mike Marsh
4. Freddy Eastwood
5. Jonathan Hunt

Special mentions to Ian Benjamin, who got better and better, and Gary Jones, who despite looking awful most of the time, had about half a dozen games where he looked quite brilliant. Chrissie Powell is in the top ten obviously, but I think he made the very best of his talent through hard work, intelligence and the right attitude.

Ronnie Whelan, i can't believe we once had a centre midfield of Mike Marsh and Ronnie Whelan albeit only for a few games, I think!

Collymore. The most natural finisher i've ever seen. Shearer had an unhealthy influence over the England team at that time and, if he hadn't, I fully believe Collymore had the potential to go down as an all time great.

1. Stan Collymore
2. Ricky Otto
3. Ronnie Whelan
4. Freddy Eastwood
5. Paul Byrne

and, for the rest of the top 20....

6. Mike Marsh
7. Jonny Hunt
8. Lee Hodges
9. Chris Powell
10. Nicky Bailey (yes, I really do think he's that good, already...)
11. Mark Gower
12. JCR
13. Andy Ansah
14. Kevin Maher
15. Steve Tilson
16. Jay Smith
17. Simon Royce
18. Spencer Prior
19. Mark Tinkler
20. Darryl Flahavan

funny that looking at your signature I would have never guessed! :finger:

My top 5

1. Stanley (he is the most complete striker I've ever seen - genuinely two-footed, pacey, good in the air, strength, great ball control).
2. Ronnie Whelan
3. Mike Marsh
4. Ricky Otto
5. Freddy Eastwood

Like him or loath him, on talent alone surely Peter Taylor should be in there. I also always rated Glen Pennyfather, although I am biased as I used to play in the school team with him...!

Moe's Top 5

1. Mike Marsh - The complete player, passing ability, tackling, heading, and leadership qualities - a good penalty taker as well.

2. Stan Collymore - The best goalscorer ever at Roots Hall.

3. Ronnie Whelan - Great passer, and ran the show in midfield

4. Jonathan Hunt - Bags of skill and stamina, and a naturally gifted footballer. He scored some cracking goals for us, seem to recall Barry Fry once saying that he wouldn't sell Hunt for anything less the £5m (typical Fry comment).
Jonathan Hunt did eventually play a few games in the Premiership for Derby County but I always believed he would have made a bigger impact in football.

5. Justin Edinburgh - Was always going to play in the top-flight IMO, he looked good for us from day one, and it was no surprise that he left for Spurs.
