Both were brought in when we were desperate for bodies on shortish term deals. Maybe was a bit of a punt that they’d be able to do something at this level that they weren’t doing in league 1. Anyone who is an expert on the whiteboard can maybe say if they were on there at the start of the summer or not.

If they're as bad as being suggested, I'd also be a bit worried about the wisdom of who recommended they be taken on in the first place.....

I am pretty sure most here were delighted when they joined us.

Both signings gave off a bad smell to me, and made me lose faith a bit in the management trio.

Their whole proud new ethos of nurturing talent, reaping the benefits and making some cash went out the window.

We were calling out for experience not has beens.

Moncur seems to be a jolly chap, but the more you read about bonne the more you see how hated he is by almost everyone, again, exactly the opposite type of person the new regime said they were interested in.

Id be happy to see the back of both of them.

Oh I thought you meant real stuff not things written by fans and I'm not going to go through thousands of posts to figure out what is real and what is "I think, therefor it's fact". We have enough of that here

We were crap in our first 2 games before Moncor arrived (although admittedly the first was against York who are flying). Scapegoat them if you want but I wouldn't expect things to improve if they ieft.

It's not a matter of personnel its all about the way the team is being coached into playing. Ponderous, predictable and pedestrian and it's just not working. Maher & Co are just too stubborn to recognise this. We could sign the best players available and it would not change anything all the while this regime continues.

The pair both came in with experience of higher level and pedigree. Weighing up how much Moncur has been available for selection and between them how many goals and assists they've contributed to, I'd say they have not been value for their wages. We can do better, get rid of both.

Both reek of panic signings, if it’s true we can’t get the signings we want until Jan, a couple of loans to fill gaps would have been more prudent. Bim’s certainly been a hit, I’m sure there’s other strikers out there in need of minutes who’d be better than Bonne in the short term.

Someone earlier said everyone was happy when they signed, that’s a massive overstretch of the truth. Some were, probably based on past form. I’m sure many more (including myself) had strong reservations, but perhaps were reluctant to air them until we’d given both a fair chance.

Wasn’t that long ago I was being mocked as I stated about how Kev & Co like the recruit, with their DD, speaking to teammates/ex-teammates, coaches and managers that had them, family, watching them numerous times and was told we need to take a risk, sign anyone.

You’ve got what you wished for, punts taken on both of these, and now you want to moan about it.

Few things need clearing up here, as a lot of misinformation is being spoken about these two.

Neither are mercenaries just here for a paycheck. Moncur, if he wasn’t arsed, would have sat at Orient and taken home his pay packet. He had the option of FGR, which he could have taken. FGR offered to pay a higher wage percentage too and Orient wanted him to go there. He opted to come here after speaking to Kev. He wanted to be here, he chose to be here.

Bonne, had other options and chose here. He isn’t one of the highest earners, which has been suggested. He doesn’t need to money, he made big money in his career. He wanted to be here.

Yes, neither of them have hit the heights here, and neither look like good signings on paper at the moment, but they want to be here despite what some posters suggest from seeing them on a match day. Whether either of them turn around their poor starts, or are here beyond January/Summer, time will tell, but just wanted to clear up a few things on these two.

They are, and in Moncur in particular, both good around the dressing room.

One assist and no goals from a creative midfielder is poor, and no goals from a striker doesn’t cut the mustard.

I certainly don't get the impression they're here for a pay cheque only, I'm just not sure they are working out and their wages would be best suited on other players. If we can get Bonne scoring and Moncur creating it would change our season. How long do we wait though?

It would send out a message (to the rest of the squad) to say no-one is immune from being got rid of by the management if they're not performing up to their own individual standards.

Actually gutted these two haven't proved to be brilliant acquisitions, might still happen for at least one of them as they finally look fit enough. There is no accounting for quality and its not like we've thrown the kitchen sink to get these lads. Hardly the Ron/Phil big namer coming here for a final hurrah.
They both have great movement and against a team like FGR i wouldnt be suprised if one of them managed to unlock a good team.

Wasn't many games ago was it, that Bonne got an ovation as he was subbed off, maybe the OP of this thread forgot this ! Blame culture is a great thing to use when emotions are heightened after losing to the glamourous Altrincham...
