I know it's the nature of football, I know we're a small club with money issues and therefore a selling club. I know it makes sense to take the moeny and run but...the premier$hite can take it's ****ing money and shove it where the sun don't shine. Mohsni is the talisman that we've needed in a season of upheaval and that's priceless.

I need a hug. :'(

Can't see why a Prem club would want to buy him right now. Maybe it's the level of interest in him that's prompted a bid in an attempt to get in before anyone else does. Potential is obvious for all to see and it's that alone that may well lead to managers taking a punt on Moshni.
A structured deal based on appearances, etc would be ideal, but I can't see it being for the amounts being mentioned on here. Perhaps such a deal totalling around £250,000 would be about right. However, with that amount interest then I hope we get as much as possible if he does go and then maybe Ron could thrash out a deal worth double that.

Because he played his nuts off against Wolves at their place and big Mick Mc was a pretty raw centre half himself - this all makes sense as if you recall it was straight after that match that he signed an extended contract. Anyway, it's traditional that our Player of the Year leaves so lets all ensure that he gets our vote at the end of the season to avoid losing anyone else.

Seriously though, a down payment, loan back and further performance related payments would make sense for all parties as harsh reality of it is that we will never be able to keep our top performers whilst we are in L2 or L1 - neither on a salary basis nor on the level of football that they want to test themselves at.

what a bummer,
yes of course its reality, but as tommy said bilel has lightened up a very dark time for us, and i still havent ruled out the blue square for us this season which as we all know would be the end.....
any deal must ensure that he's loaned back, or it could be curtains,

it must be a no brainer for a premiership club, take him on for what a premiership team considers peanuts, if it works great, if it doesnt they sell him to a championship or league 1 side.
we'll see i guess :(

I understand that his performances have attracted interest (and rightly so), but my point is that he's not gonna play right for a Premier League side right now and, depite the potential being there, without the level of interest being shown I'd doubt whether any offers would be coming in this window.

From what I've heard the bid referred to in the Sky story is £500k (though not sure if there are any add-ons for appearances etc).

Hopefully the amount of clubs (apparently) interested mean we'll be able to start some sort of 'bidding war'...

I'd be surprised if he went already, but I could see someone buying him and loaning him back straight to us for a year and a half!

This guy could get us back into L1- we should keep him to the end of the season. If he has to go then we will get more.
Talk of 250k is absurd- the likes of Bailey got 400k going to a poor Championship outfit and Freddy couldn't get an offer from one premiership club and we got 1m plus.

500k sounds ok as starting bid but if more than 1 Premiership Club is interested then we have to be holding out for 800- 1m in the Summer.

If these clubs wanted him then Jan1 might have worked- not now.

Oh for God's sake get real. What we and any lower league club of our lowly historical stature do is what we've always done. Money talks. If the talking is loud and proud he gets sold (and hopefully loaned back).

One day we will be that club doing the poaching. :hilarious:

I think he has serious raw talent but he is very raw. For every two good games he has had a not so good one. I would think his best interests foot wise would be staying here at learning his trade. However money talks of course but I would be really suprised if he went anywhere.

I had my collar felt by the gendarmes for shoplifting a Le Coq Sportif tracksuit from Sainte-Genevieve Sports on an exchange trip in the mid 1980's.

The club have done well unearthing such a gem and getting him on an extended contract. I find it sad when players like Dervite, who can do a great job for a club like us, end up rotting in the reserves for clubs like Tottenham (although he did eventually go to Villareal B). MAYBE Mohsni will want the adulation he is getting at Southend for a little bit longer while he improves his English and settles into English football. Let's give him a hero's welcome at Barnet and give him all the reasons to stay that we can. We need a good chant. How about (to the tune of 'That's Amore"):
He's defence, he's attack, he's midfield, he's left back, Bilel Mohsni!!!!!

That's good!!

You could tweak it to fit that "He's big, he's red, his feet stick out the bed.. Peter Crouch, Peter Crouch" song.

"Defence, Attack, he'll turn up at left back... Bilel Mohsni, Bilel Mohsni!"

He's tall, he's mad, he got signed by Jedi's Dad, Moshni Bilel, Moshni Bilel.

errr....I think I left my coat over there somewhere...
