Sorry but most of the reaction on this thread is cobblers ! Yes we want him to stay but the days of the big boys coming in for one of our players are very few nowadays and it's what smaller clubs need to survive. He's not going to play first team football in the premiership but if a premiership team see potential there then of course they will come sniffing.
Who could blame the lad really if say Newcastle came along with a offer? I doubt he had even ever heard of Southend a year ago.
Good luck to him I say.

Yes all that you say is very true but here is the one player that ive looked forward to seeing play since eastwood left. Still sulking AND doing my spoilt brat bit.

Ha ha okay then! think of this for a moment though please. Apparently a few clubs have been looking at him for a while. If he hadn't of scored in the last two games and say we lost both of those games then the general mood on here would be very different in my view. Perhaps there would be calls of "take the money" on here - just a thought.
graysblue.jr you are probably spot on on the money issue here.

Realistically the down payment fee for an inexperienced 4th division defender, playing for Southend would be less than £100k. The fee will be made up by appearances increments. I would assume if he does go this window we will have him loaned back for at least 3 months.

Money talks....with the club losing 1.2 million a year that sounds like a reasonable fee to me. It would be nice to keep him until the end of the season

If he goes I will seriously think about giving up. We are just starting to settle down and gel together we need stability! Even selling him and then him being loaned back means he is not ours and will not be under our control. Yet another mistake being made I fear.

What's the fuss? If he's sold, he'll be loaned straight back anyway. He's here until the summer either way and he'll be off in the summer either way.

Heard from an ex board member at the Morecombe match that Wolves offerred £250k rising to possible total of £1m on deadline day with him being loaned back for the whole season - amazingly we turned it down and thus explains the immediate contract extension.

Sounds far fetched I know, but honestly this contact is 100% genuine and really is in the 'inner circle' at Southend.

I posted the above back in September - sad to say it looks like it could be coming true, though the loan deal would make real sense

I think he will stay till at least the end of the season. If he goes in Jan window il be gutted, if only because it will go into Martins black hole of dept, or is it Southend black hole,

£1.2m?? I'll have what you're having!!

usa_shrimper has only extrapolated the £100,000 a month figure that Brady banded around on the radio...

As far as I'm concerned, this is a non-story until something concrete occurs. Big club linked with small club talent appearing from nowhere shocker. The SkySports story doesn't appear to have any credible source, there are no quotes and whilst Premier League teams have been watching Mohsni, this was occuring months ago and not in recent weeks because he's only just come back from injury.

Well the wolves are one of the teams being mentioned here so it could be them. For all those about to top themselves over this please remember the harsh realities of football at our level and remember that we got sweet FA or as good as for our so called great players of the last few seasons - a complete balls up at all levels.

I agree when it hits the Sun newspaper I will believe this story :-)

I've got no problem selling him - its what small clubs do - and would be quite a nice feather in PS's cap to pull a lad out of park football and sell him on for 100% profit. PS even said himself back at the start of the season that it would be what would happen to Mohsni. Maybe not this quick, but still.

BUT, we have to be properly compensated and until we know what that is, its not worth worrying about. Either way, he will leave us pretty soon I'd imagine, he is quite the talent.

I'd take a really nice structured deal, something like £250k upfront, 20% sell on, £150k if buyers stay in prem in 2012, £150k after X amount of games, £150k for a Tunisia/French cap etc.

Plus we get him loaned back if its this season and first refusal on any loan offers in the future.

Dunne deal.

The lads a machine with raw talent. I really hope we don't accept less than 350/400k and, as said, a load of clauses as he will go on to play at a very high level.

These last couple of seasons has been as painful as i can remember as a southend fan.

Bilel has been a real ray of light these past few months. It would be a proper kick in the bollox if bilel left and yet another in a long line of insults.

He should stay till the end of the season and then see where we are.
