He's a good player, but he's not Premiership quality yet. He'll become it one day though, I think it'd serve him best if he stayed here for another season until at least 2012 and then moved as he's be more developed them I reckon.

It's annoying how small clubs source quality players and lose them immediatly. I hope we manage to keep him until the end of the season, it would have been ideal to have him next season for a real promotion push but that looks unlikely now. Hopefully we milk the transfer fee for all it's worth so we can buy some quality to replace him.
Personally I think he will get roasted in the prem at the moment, needs to stay and learn the English game more first.

just as well he signed an extended contract with us or he would be going for nothing, told sturrock to hold on to him for at least a season as he will make the club money, lets hope he stays for a while.

So our potential answer to a new striker moves on (for peanuts no doubt) and no-one that PS has spoken to is interested in moving to us......With just 3 days left on the clock.

I can foresee another fine mess.

I've heard we are interested in Matt Lockwood, Ray Parlour, Teddy Sheringham and Lee Trundle so everythings going to be cushty.

I'm pretty certain that he's not getting paid huge amounts by us and I would suggest that he could easily buy himself out of the remainder if he is offered a generous enough sign on fee.

Yep cant see Luggy tolerating any selling of Mohsni. Also would think Mohsni would want to stay at least until the end of the season. Hes good but come on, battering the Macclesfield defence and playing in the prem, worlds apart. I mean Freddy ripped this division apart but could he play in the prem? Doubt it.

Sorry but most of the reaction on this thread is cobblers ! Yes we want him to stay but the days of the big boys coming in for one of our players are very few nowadays and it's what smaller clubs need to survive. He's not going to play first team football in the premiership but if a premiership team see potential there then of course they will come sniffing.
Who could blame the lad really if say Newcastle came along with a offer? I doubt he had even ever heard of Southend a year ago.
Good luck to him I say.

You can almost guarentee, that he'll be off. The very mention of the words "transfer fee" and Martin gets a woody

How much do you think we could realistically get for him? I'd be very surprised if he went in this transfer window as it would leave us no time to find a replacement and both PS and RM know how integral he is to the side at the mo.

In the summer on the back of a decent full season for a reasonable fee then you'd expect him to go but not now.

i think you are right, if he did go he would not walk into the starting line up of any of the teams mentioned (or even the 25 man squads of the premier teams).

A good compromise from a Southend perspective would be to keep him here "on loan" till the end of the season at least and for him to continue to develop under Sturrocks influence.

He definitely looks like he can play at a high level regularly at some stage.
