If it means the dressing room is divided then it is best he goes. The fans at the end of the day want to see results.

personally I hope he stays,he loves playing for this club and loves the game, when I met him the other week he was so enthusiastic about this club and was desperate to play at Wembley unfortunately we hav'nt made it this season.I think he's a vital player for this team.
I have wondered how he gets on with the others in the team as I did witness some weeks ago at training a fallout between him and others. Coughlan had to sort it out.
Some of the abuse he's had to face is appalling since tuesday.
Listening to Paul Sturrock i'm not sure what is going to happen to him I think its 50/50 if he carries on here.

I think the club will get rid of him, but I don't think they should.

It has been highlighted he was on a warning, so expect to see us cash in if possible.

The way "fans" have turned on him on facebook though, is completely unacceptable. He got two yellow cards for god sake, we have had players sent off for punching and headbutting, and they didn't get this level of abuse.

I think Bil will be more gutted than anyone, it is his carrer on the line after all.

You're missing the point, the fans aren't reacting to an isolated incident of two poorly timed tackles, the fans are reacting to a long saga of events, some very serious. If he had no history of temperamental issues, then yeah, it would be over the top but this is the latest in a long line of incidents. He attacked/threatened his own team mates with a pair of scissors for christ sake! And by all accounts (3 that I've seen) had to be pulled away from them outside the stadium Tuesday night. Yet people seem to accept this because he waves to them when they sings his name and occasionally comes up trumps on the field. He was given a massive warning after the Orient game - last chance saloon. Then the first thing he did when back in the side, was get the club fined for an altercation with the Port Vale players/fans after the final whistle. The guy either clearly doesn't learn from his mistakes or has no element of control.

We can't have a player that might blow up any minute, a player that seems to have no qualms with acts of aggression against his own team mates, and more importantly whom seemingly hasn't the backing of his own team.

The players have had enough, and who can blame them. For me the team is far more important than keeping one player happy, no matter how good he is or could be. Someone used the example of Beckham earlier, well look what Fergie did when he felt Becks off the field antics were becoming distracting for him and his team mates. He sold arguably his most iconic player, and effective set piece taker for the sake of the team.

The players have got to the stage, where they are no longer keeping their feelings towards Bilel private either, with Gilbert's interview & Dicko's tweet. They don't care how nice he is on or off the field, they don't care how much the fans sing his name (this grates them as well - Mark Phillips tweeting that we need other songs for other players) or how much passion he plays with, they care about having a player in the side they can trust, they can rely on and who will give them as a team the greatest chance of success, at the moment, he doesn't deliver the first two, and only sporadically delivers third.

For me he's had more chances than most reasonable players can expect to get, and has to go - which is a massive shame; but Sturrock cannot afford to risk a divided dressing room.

Edit: Just seen he posted on Facebook 'I try iam calm but it look southend united its finnish by my fault' - Sounds like Brady/Sturruck/both may well have had enough.

This is such a difficult decision to make and one that could have a massive impact on the season either positive or negative. The problem is everything you all have said. As a player and as a person (for those that have met him) he has so many qualities. His temperment in another thing, but without it would he be the same Moshni. At times this season he has walked away from situations and looked far calmer, more recently he has been bakc to his old self, Swindon JPT at the end for example.

But he is loved by so many for so many reasons and we would all support him for the right reasons. He loves the club and the fans and IF the club can somehow help him through this then we may still have a prize asset on our hands. If the changing room is lost and they dont want him, and who could blame them, then there is only one answer. No one player is bigger than the club and the club has one target left this season and that is promotion.

The other thing is if you look at the likes of Keane, Batty, Vinny Jones, Shawcross, Rooney, Cattermole etc have/are they just the same sort of players and didnt they potential cost their teams points? sometimes you have to take these sort of characters for what they are...but its PS call and not one that i would like. UTB

I think we are missing two important elements here....firstly, his issues earlieer in the season were related to his inability to keep his cool on the pitch. I think Bilel has managed to control this largely since then. When Anthony Grant got sent off at Oxford, Bilel was the only one not to get involved in the skirmish.......also, Grant could easily have been sent off on Tuesday for a dreadful lunge on the halfway life, which looked far worse than anything Bilel did during the time he was on the pitch, yet would we be going through this process with Grant...even though he has been sent off more times than Bilel???? Finally, Bilel is being played out of position....we know he doesnt mind because he loves to play but he ISNT a midfielder, never mind a winger and I am afraid he tackles like a centre half which is unaccepteable to some referees further up the pitch! His first card on tuesday was for persistant fouling which was harsh because the Oldham players kept chucking themselves on the floor every time he went near them!

I for one would love to see him stay and perhaps give Christian Dailly a role to help focus him.......

Just had a thought, can Mohsni cope with losing? Didn't he have an argument with the Swindon players after we lost? Did Mohsni's calming down begin when we started winning every match?

bilel should stay, no doubt about it, what gets my back up is that little idiot gilbert going over the top about it as if its the end of the world that we never got the liverpool game, sort it out gilbert you aint the only left back at the club and i for one would"nt even put you in the squad of sixteen let alone the starting eleven.

:net:

Viera had poor discipline then became captain and a club legend
Cantona had poor discipline then became captain a club legend
R.Keane had poor discipline then became captain a club legend
Barton had poor discipline then became captain (at Newcastle) and was on the verge of England call up

Maybe Mohsni should be made captain? :winking:

Agreed 100%. Probably the worst/over rated full back we've had since that idiot Gary Poole!

For info.....

Where he HAS featured;

Played 23
Won 11
Drawn 5
Lost 7
48% win ratio. Obviously with a far greater ratio of games played in, the likelihood of defeat is greater. However, you could argue most of our best results/performances have occured when he hasn't featured - a more settled side, when Sturrock isn't trying to fit Mohsni in?

Games in which Mohsni has NOT featured;

Accrington (a) 2-1 win
Plymouth (h) 2-0 win
Rotherham (a) 4-0 win
Shrewsbury (h) 3-0 win
Torquay (h) 4-1 win
Oxford (h) 2-1 win

Make of it what you will.

totally disagree, he was interviewed straight after the match- what did you expect him to Say. Would you have preferred him to say that it didn't mater to him , that he didn't care if he and Southend got to Anfield?

Gilbert stated his opinion - which was with 11 on the pitch we would have wom, he avoided as much as possible replying to questions on 'did Moshni loose the match' and simply said that yes he did fill that Moshni had let the team down down

I hope a fine, and a few weeks out of the side and some professional help will be sufficient, and enough punishment for him, and to also give the rest of the squad a chance to forgive and forget.

I would keep him, he is the only player who has shown passion in every game i have seen him play.He gives 100% every match, that is most likely one of the reasons he gets booked so much.Keep him on the bench for a while and introduce him back gradually.

Well I can tell you I have spoken to Bilel today and he thinks he's a goner.

He thinks the players and staff don't like him and feels very sad about the whole thing. He also feels terrible for letting down the supports who care so much for him.

I think he wants to stay but a lot has happened and I have feeling we've seen the end of him. I more than anyone hope this is not the case. I want him to stay simple as that.

He needs to get on his knees and apologise to the players and take his punnishment even though i do not agree with some comments that have been made public by sturrock and most noticeably Peter Gilbert (****).

We shall see what happens.

it seems other people and not just me think gilbert is a waste of space, as it says in other posts today that gilbert is the worse left back we have had in years:smile:
