Medical staff

anyone else think Arnold was clearly concussed when he went down after seeing
the ball out for a corner and the Notts crowd got noisy and he suddenly jumped to his feet -

he was "ok" then but had to go off later "not ok"

Yep - stuff happens but it was shoddy ..

How did we end up with no keeper on the bench ?

Surely Wiggsy could have got his kit on ..

As for Chris Philips pointing out the shabby kit - its all about standards and expectations.
Notts County didn’t have a keeper on the bench either.

Have you had a knock to the head? You seem to be repeating yourself a lot.

yeah but Notts County won the game and we screwed up with JD in goal looking like a sunday league player ...

i do not mind people being rude to me but to be clear - it was an absolute sh+t show -

no excuses -

in fact i might repeat it - an absolute sh+t show

Speaking of staff in general, was the other departing youth coach people were referring to Lewis Spencer? He really wasn't here long if so.

Sorry to add to the gloom but because of our current status isn’t the academy doomed ?
The entire club let alone the academy is on a spiral so once funding goes after a while in the NL system then SUFC would have to pay for the academy. Ron said he’d do this but let’s be real when was the last time he backed up his words thoroughly?

We’ll lose most of our best young lads to better clubs like Sayers to Spurs.

Doubt there’ll be much of a youth team left soon once the vultures start circling knowing there’s no structure and they’ll be picking off our players on the cheap.

I heard that unless we went up this year, the academy in its current format would go. If we went down and even maybe if we stay in the NL its 50/50 the U23s survive
I'm leaning towards the idea that we will need to make some drastic financial savings to survive going forward. There are just too many unknown, unknowns out there.

So, leaving sentiment, idealism etc aside, I would agree that the academy will have to go.

Any idea how much that would save?

This may be completely off track here but I have a mate who's a trained paramedic and recently left job after a terribly different couple of years we've all had. He's now literally a couple weeks into training to be a GP and only 2 or 3 days into the job he was asked at the very last minute to be the doctor at the Maidenhead game, which he did.

He isn't a qualified doctor yet and he said himself, should I really be doing this. Just seemed strange to me, especially it being literally a couple of hours prior to kick off.

My initial gut feeling was to say no. BUT.

I don't know the FA rules and the level of medical experiece that is required, also we don't know the conversation which was expected from him or her, was a club doctor from Maidenhead also at the match?

If he or she holds a current qualified parahmedic qualification, that's pretty high level in the medical world (NHS), you'd be surprised what they're qualified it administer, they're very highly trained.

Absolutely, the person in question has a huge amount of experience. I just thought it was all very strange and last minute for a supposedly professional football club.
