With a view to a permanent contract as well.... crackign signing, well done to the club for this one.

Barnard, Eastwood and Corr. My 3 favourite strikers of my time supporting Blues united together. Potentially wow.

I just hope Fred can get his fitness back, he was looking so sharp before the injury.

Anyway, I digress. Great signing.

Didn't see that bit! Getting too excited now, oh well got an exam in an hour that should bring me back down with a bump!

Wouldn't say significant. Woodrow is more than a decent player. But he's an upgrade none the less.

Cauley Woodrow - 19 professional games - 2 goals

Lee Barnard - 226 professional games - 72 goals

I appreciate that Barnard hasn't played for a while, but he's scored a lot of goals wherever he's been and plays in a similar style to Woodrow.

He should be up to speed fitness wise as Saints should have a reserve side being prem team and all that.
great signing

Blindly. All we need now is to get Stan back, what's he up to these days....?
Dunno, he seems to have vanished, you never hear from him these days :)

I heard he has just gone to pick up Brett Angell and they will be here later this afternoon to sign up.

Barny, Woodrow & Thompson on the pitch at the same time..we'd all get mixed up due to hair colour :stunned:

Welcome back Lee!

Maybe, but it's pretty risk free unless we're paying tons on salary.

I doubt we're paying much at all on salary. This is just like the Eastwood loan a couple of years ago. Southampton have been trying to get Barnard off the wage bill for a while. We'll have agreed to take on a small portion of the wage, which is better than nothing from their perspective. Barnard gets to go back home with his young family rather than getting dumped in some Northern ******** like Oldham again. Everyone wins.

He was on major money at Southampton and was never going to get it again hence why he's been happy to sit there getting paid all year.

This has all the hallmarks of a Ron Martin signing.

Very much so, which is kind of strange seeing how the story is Barnard held us to ransom about leaving originally.

With the circumstances of his leaving, when finances were at rock bottom, its an incredible turn of events for him to be back.

On paper we have the most lethal forward line in this division .

Scunthorpe would argue that with Deon Burton, San Winnall and now Paddy Madden but them aside ours looks great - especially considering that Phil Brown made the point that Kevan Hurst is basically a striker now.

After they have picked up The King , Billy Best .

What a great boost before the match tomorrow, too! Our choice of forwards tomorrow will be almost as good as Hull's! I can't handle all this positivity...
