Breaking News Latest news on the sale of the club.

'Not my fault mate, I've continued to support this Club and still am with a guarantee' - a guarantee of what you odious little ****. 'And I'm really sorry that I've ****ed up every employee's life at my club, but I have talked to the staff and told them they will be rewarded' - Who's paying that then, you're skint. 'Have I apologised to all of the SUFC staff? why should I, It's not my fault, it's everybody else.

I was pretty grumpy after listening to that recording and I've never shouted at my laptop before, but I did whilst hearing that. Mind you, I did apologise to it afterwards.

This was mentioned yesterday wasn't it. Only the club is being sold to the consortium at the moment. RH remains in the hands of the Martins until later.
Here....

*PROTEST ANNOUNCEMENT*
*TOMORROW, SATURDAY 6TH APRIL, 11AM*
Here we go again. Our previous statement said we remained ready to take action and we meant it.

We are calling a protest: *TOMORROW SATURDAY 6TH APRIL at 11AM* outside Ron Martin's home *on the corner of Benfleet Road and Essex Way.*

Our demands to Martin are simple: Pay your debts immediately to stop, once and for all, the existential threat hanging over our club from Winding Up Petitions in order to allow the takeover deal to be completed without any further delay. Commit to proactively work in best faith with the council and financiers in order to expedite the closure of the deal.

We call on all Shrimpers fans dust off the banners and join us to deliver these demands to Martin's front door.

Fans' patience is finite. We haven't gone away, you know.

You might as well howl at the moon.

I’m not in any way defending Ron, but you do realise that he asked to come on the programme on his own volition and answered the questions that Glenn asked pretty directly.
Would recommend listening to it on BBC Sounds.
I have now managed to listen to the relevant interview, I do believe that for the first time Ron is mostly telling the truth. He, Southend Council and The Consortium are committed to getting the deal done as soon as possible. One would have to hope the Winding Up Application is adjourned. I think we have to give Ron this time, the benefit of considerable doubt. Well at least until Mid May.

I commend you for doing something- and everything helps. The slight flaw is further to the conditional sale agreement with the consortium this debt will sit with the new owners under that agreement - the issue is that Stewart’s are shafting the consortium by trying to get treated preferentially as the consortium as part of that sale process negotiated deferred payment with those suppliers.

Not sure who Ron will put pressure on… he will just have to suffer. I doubt many will sympathise..

I'd assume the consortium will push forward with there sale? Maybe with assurances Ron can't touch the money
Clubs usually offer Early Bird discounts to get money in to help with outgoings through to the start of the following season. There may be no need to do that at the moment. I am sure it is best to delay sales until the Takeover is done and dusted anyway.

Agree. I’m not spending my Saturday morning outside Ron Martin’s house anymore. This has been going for too long and I haven’t got it in me anymore. I also don’t think it will make any difference to the predicament we’re in.

I’d like to hear Greg, was it? From before quiz the charlatan on some of his statements from tonight. That needs to happen.

It's not obligatory, but some might just find it therapeutic to totally irritate the rat and family and just remind him that he's had an easy ride for far too long.

I think transfers and investments will be on hold.
Probably consortium plans will go on hold, I hope they will cover any shortfall in income to keep the club afloat.
My personal thoughts are they have almost run out of patience. Will they remain committed beyond May. Who knows 🤷‍♂️
Yeah I think to my self recently there must be a time where they must think enough is enough now we need to ease off for sure

Just listening to Ron on BBC. In addition to comments already made...

Justin and Ron will represent the club if Stewarts Law goes to court

Ron still paying £100k per month (not convinced if this is cash going in or a share of guaranteeing the consortiums cash investment if it goes belly up)

He still talks to King Kev frequently

Finance partner (bank) has been in touch with consortium yesterday - no reason why they should talk to consortium as their relationship is with Ron

Ron will hold a staff meeting before completion of the sale to reassure them of the future!!!!

Had it been Sunday i'd have been there, as haven't missed any so far. But arrangements made for tomorrow, plus after having acupuncture earlier on my recent bout of Sciatica, standing for a while is uncomfortable.
And no doubt if easing the discomfort by sitting on 'The Rat's' wall, one of the security goons no doubt in attendance, would accuse me of trespass on a private property??.

If that is true, despite having a bout of Sciatica at present, i'd do a Mexican cartwheel around the bedroom tomorrow!.
