KACPER ŁOPATA COMPLETES PERMANENT TRANSFER!
Southend United are delighted to announce the signing of Kacper Łopata from Sheffield United for an undisclosed fee.www.southendunited.co.uk
I obviously had to keep this one very quiet for obvious reasons.
As we all know, we’ve been in contact with Sheffield United/Lopata every since he left us, and it ramped up during the summer.
I heard two/three days ago that it was a real possibility on happening, but didn’t want to say anything incase Sheffield United changed their mind again.
Lopata has only wanted to be back at Roots Hall. He loves the Club, he loves the players, he loves the fans and we all love him.
It’ll be announced at some stage today. The Polish rumour was a load of old nonsense.
Lopata is coming home on a permanent deal
I assume he didn't technically sign until the medical was complete?Sorry?
The Polish rumour is something an agent would put about to push through a deal, reminding Sheff Utd that he could walk for free at the end of the season so they may as well cash in now.
I wonder if this has soured our relationship with Sheff Utd at all? They may be less keen to send their star young players here if they all fall in love and want to stay…
I understand that this was key to the deal as Stan was able to demonstrate first hand how dropping down can help his career.
This has been ongoing for months and held up by Sheffield.
The plan was to make him Captain but that would be harsh on Ralph - first off Kasper has to show that he is better than the three current centre backs who have all been excellent.
Notwithstanding this, it is an excellent signing for us and hopefully shows that we are becoming an attractive destination for players to further their careers.
On the face of it, it seems that Stan has managed to marginalise RM, which (if correct) would be his main achievement so far, in my opinion.I do wonder where we would be without Stan; I know we're still in the NL, but his involvement so far has massively turned the club around, for that no words can thank him enough.
I hope all those Stan doubters have seen exactly what he's brought to the club.
It’s not just Stan it’s the whole football department and the new CEO. They’re changing things slowly but it was a huuuuge job picking things up off the floor. On the pitch, you can see the team spirit and pride to wear the shirt is back for the first time in years .. and it’s a real pleasure watching SUFC again.I do wonder where we would be without Stan; I know we're still in the NL, but his involvement so far has massively turned the club around, for that no words can thank him enough.

It's not completely untrue .... there was a good opportunity to join one of the top sides in the polish league which he turned down. He wanted to come here ....The Polish rumour is something an agent would put about to push through a deal, reminding Sheff Utd that he could walk for free at the end of the season so they may as well cash in now.
