Kacper Łopata Signs!

I am trying to control my excitement until he's signed and holding one of our scarfs aloft.

But how good will his signing be?!

(Control yourself)
Great News, options in Defence much appreciated and needed if only for cover Against injuries.
No Malta Air Show this year, so still unable to meet you, yet!

Southend United are delighted to announce the signing of Kacper Łopata from Sheffield United for an undisclosed fee.

The Polish U21 international was on loan at Blues last season from the Championship club, and returns on a permanent deal, penning a two-year contract which includes an option for a third.

He played 18 games for Kevin Maher’s side in his first spell at the club, playing the full 90 minutes in every one of them, and helping to keep four clean sheets.

The centre-back played a significant part in Blues’ 14-game unbeaten league run from December to March, starting almost every game during that streak.

Having moved to the UK from Poland at the age of nine, Łopata was involved in the youth systems at Southampton, Bristol City and Brighton & Hove Albion.

During his time at the Seagulls, he had loans at non-league side Whitehawk and also returned to his homeland with Zagłębie Sosnowiec.

In August 2020, he signed for Sheffield United on a three-year deal, playing two full games in the EFL Cup a year later, against Carlisle United and Derby County.

His loan to Blues came shortly after that and now he returns to Essex on a longer-term basis.

Welcome back to Roots Hall, Kacper!

Secure tickets for what could be Kacper's second debut tomorrow at Roots Hall when Blues take on Torquay United.

This is indeed a great signing for us and a muched welcome return to the side
Bit of a headache for the management team though as who are they gonna drop?

Surprised Wrexham didn't buy him giving as they seem to be buying up all the best players in the NL to increase their chances

Welcome back Kacper and let’s give him a great return

Whilst I join in the general euphoria on here about the signing of Kacper can I add a word of caution. The present teapm is party successful due to being a very hard working unit who play as a team. My concern is that this ethos is not disturbed by the signing of someone many seem to see on here as a demi-God. I'm sure that Kev will be monitering this carefully but it's as well for us supporters to remember that we are Southend United and not Lopata United.

As it has been said every member of our team is a united unit .Iguess evey player will know where he stands within that unit .So a new face should make no differance to them .
