Jeremy Corbyn's Labour

The other thing on this is it bringing in the young vote. Each of those young people has parents and grandparents.

I'm 47, went to Uni and it was free at point of use, my Nan died and left me £3k so I used it as a deposit on a 3 bedroom house in Kingston for £70k.
Next generation are always better off than the previous generation - except this one. I have 2 daughters at uni now and another likely to go in 2 years. If I voted Tory I would knowingly be voting them to be £9k a year plus 6.3% interest worse off than under Labour, plus no evidence of anything being done to make it possible for them to ever own a house.

I couldn't agree more. The mismanagement of every western economy by parties from the nominal right or nominal left has made the future decidedly bleak for working class and lower middle class families. My situation is almost identical to A.S.S., but I have very little faith in Labour to deliver a solution. That said, I have zero faith in the Tories to deliver anything. We are headed towards third world levels of wealth disparity where a super rich elite throws crumbs to an expanding and increasingly alienated underclass. Orwell predicted that socialism would do this, but it has turned out to be late stage global capitalism that has vapourized societies and any sense of communal good.

This meltdown has been coming for years. If the Tories had some ideals then more would be saying the Commons Party system is not fit for purpose and May is almost as poor a Leader as JC.

I didn't say it was a bad idea. Just getting my head around what you said, and confirmed. They are the same. I still wouldn't vote JC no matter how much he promised, far too left for my liking.

Exactly what the EU technocrats want

difficult to break out of that set up when wealth redistribution is generally accepted as jealousy. No one can get rich on their own, they may have a groundbreaking idea or great organisational skills but they are going to rely on the graft of others to put it into practice. We need to talk up fairness, honesty and common sense and then reflect these in policy that improve the lot of everyone.

Far too left was what people were being told up to April 2017 and by June 2017 people could see the policies written up in a manifesto and see that it wasn't far too left at all for 40% of voters.

Here we go again. Still behind in the polls with an absolutely inept government in power. He's unelectable as far as the British public are concerned and no mater how you want to dress it up some in your beloved party are finally waking up to that fact.

Once again, I couldn't agree more. And you know what? I don't mind admitting that I'm jealous of those who can afford to put their children through higher education unencumbered by debt and give them a helping hand to get on the property ladder. I wish I could. Neo-conservatives like Thatcher and Reagan liked to talk about aspirational politics, but what can today's youth really aspire to unless they already have it? Only sports seem to offer a tiny tiny percentage of working class children the opportunity to rise from nothing to achieve great wealth - even music and acting seem to be exclusively the province of the wealthy now. We've been sold a lie that honest hard work will get you to the top. It becomes ever clearer that it won't.

Exactly, it's bank of Mum and Dad that students and most people under 30 who get on the property ladder are relying on much of the time. In my kids case it's more bank of Grandparents - inheritance skipping a generation as I already have a home. If you don't have that option though I don't see a route in for many people. Large scale council house building is the only way I can see out of this.

Polls tell you very little as we have learned over and over again, but just as Fiona Bruce had to issue a correction - Labour and Tories are neck and neck in the polls for what that is worth.

I really don't see what I'm dressing up, Labour got 40% in the election little over a year and a half ago, its you that is dressing down, I'm stating the only statistic that means anything - an election result that was very close so no complacency about predicting the next one.

You keep believing,bless.

The cheaper option is of course Brexit. The majority of us British don't fall for the lie that you need to continually grow your population.

If you move nearly all your industry to the far east but continue with unmanageable levels of immigration, then your children and your grandchildren are doomed to poverty. This is a simple mathematical fact not some right wing ideology.

Deep down nearly all reamainers know this. They just wont admit it in some cases for political reason in others for selfish reasons. Especially the people who make great profits from the poor and from cheap labour.

If only we had a party who would stand up and represent the very people who have suffered from this lie...…..They would have the biggest ever victory in a British GE

Apparently Derek Hatton has had his application the rejoin Labour approved :Stunned:

Labour really are headed for the scrap heap.

Pretty strange that the breakaway Labour rebels aren’t interested in by-elections.

I thought they were in favour of People’s Votes?

Why he's 71, hardly any of the youth who have joined Labour have heard or really care about him

The biggest problem is this and the Secret seven gang have given Tories a way out of the press over the Brexit mess

Another lets knock Labour at any chance brigade on Hatton

In fairness, it’s normally self-inflicted.

The Party is a joke.

What was the illustrious leader doing yesterday, whilst his rebellious backbenchers were causing a media storm?

Yes, that’s right, he was tending to his allotment.

Can't blame him to be fair. At least that might be one set of vegetables he can get somewhere with.

I'm sorry GBJ its not self inflicted, the party has gained on Tories, the last GE showed that

He doesn't back a second referendum, which I'm pleased as it would make the democracy of this country a joke, whether you voted Go and regret because the lies from the Battle bus, thats something you have to live with

I do not know both sides of anti- semitic, but if true it needs to be dealt with from inside, every Labour paying member believes it that

As for allotment, think the old joke is wearing thin

Al this has done is let bad news go away, ie Honda and Swindon closure and only 10 days to UK future on Brexit, Tories must be counting down the clock

As I said yesterday first post, the Secret Seven need to show balls and call a by election to see who the voters want

Surely Chuka my hat in with new party isnt scared with his majority or perhaps he is .....
