Jeremy Corbyn's Labour

That reminds me. What about Naz Shah and her tweet about the forgotten victims of Telford.....Any opinions ***?
she liked / retweeted a spoof email then when told what she had done she deleted and apologised - I don't think it was about Telford though

this question asking and answering only goes in one direction does it?

did you maybe want to delete and apologise too like she did?

Glad she had to be told that telling white girls to shut up for the sake of diversity is er...wrong. Good to see she gets your support.

Why would I want to do that..... Anyone who says the BBC has no responsibility over its staff who committed crime on their property or whilst filming programmes etc is covering up for paedophiles. You even have to question the motives of anyone who liked that post.

No different to saying the Catholic church aren't the police etc.

I didn't do that as you well know - why make your trolling so blatant?

I asked the question:
‘Not sure why so many of you want to cover up for Paedophile gangs’

which members of Shrimperzone are you referring to?

so when you wrote that you were referring to the BBC? To be clear then: Saville - BBC staff turned a bling eye for various reasons - who on here is covering up for paedophile gangs?

as there is so much damage escalation going on damage limitation needs to happen too to bring it into reality.
If there are cases being dealt with then it is being dealt with.

I'm aware that it exists and I know it needs dealing with. Jon Lansman - Jewish - head of Momentum - threw his hat into the ring for General Secretary - got a load of anti-Semitic abuse on social media.

If there is a back log of cases then they aren't being dealt with....Labour have underestimated the resources needed to tackle the issue and have been sluggish to respond to criticism over their dealing of anti Semitism from all sides.

Concerns were raised on here months ago that not enough was being done....it has taken a protest to achieve a meeting between Corbyn and senior Jewish leaders....oh and lets not forget the apology.

So we are talking about the same thing can you post a link to the backlog information please.
Can you also post a link to where a meeting was requested and rejected please. Thanks

That's the back log link.

Mr Corbyn says "anti-Semitic attitudes have surfaced more often in our ranks in recent years" and he accepts criticism that the party "has been too slow in processing some of the cases that have emerged".

It is Corbyn that requested the meeting....http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-43536830

The opposite is in fact the case - the other politics threads barely get touched. Boris Johnson calling the Russia World Cup the equivalent to the Nazi Olympics (seemingly oblivious to the fact that Russia boycotted it and the British team attended and gave Nazi salutes), Theresa May backing her assistant who has outed a whistleblower despite his family not knowing he was gay, a Tory council going bankrupt, C4 investigations into data theft and the connections to the Tory party and Vote Leave - there are many many examples of government shonkiness that no one bothers to bring up on here because it is a never ending list of bad.

Love the way you highlight one bit and go off on one about the tories rather than address what this thread is about, ie: Corbyn. By all means, put some ****s into May and co on the relevent thread, I'll read it, might comment and possibly agree with you, stranger things have happened. But don't just ignore the painful truth that questions need to be asked about the company Corbyn has been keeping. The past has a nasty habit of coming back to haunt you.

it was all above board - I highlighted the part of your post that I was replying to as that was a point that was fairly new to the thread and I could reply to it off the top of my head (the rest was still in the quote, I wasn't pretending you only made one point). I've not been shy about investing time in this thread but points that don't have a straight forward reply to I'm not always going to have time to reply to.

My point was valid though - politics on here largely means discussing Corbyn and there is a lot of Conservative activity going under the radar.

Ok, its gettig boring now what with Corbyn doing no wrong and the charges against him are all figments of our imagination. One last try then I'll not bother anymore and you and the other blinkered fans can enjoy your warped and selected utopia.

David Lammy is facing calls for deselection for attending a protest against antisemitism and the jewish groups are refusing to meet Corbyn until he addresses the attacks on Labour MP's that also attended, where do we stand on this revelation.

By the way, The Mail missed the boat on this one, it was in The Guardian.

no one said he does no wrong - he issued an apology for a start. The rest of that sentence is nonsense and I assume rhetorical.

It wasn't 'a protest' it was the Parliament protest - attended by the DUP and Mr Javid who has gone on to call Momentum neo-fascists.

The only known party link to calls for deselection that I am aware of is from a Facebook group that has 12 members (I don't know if the call came from 1 or 12 of the group or somewhere in between). No doubt Lammy is getting lots of abuse from untraceable people because he does every day. I follow him on twitter and often report people for abusing him. He is a vocal black man in the public domain - unfortunately he is abused constantly.

Jewish leaders will only meet Corbyn if he condemns attacks on Labour MPs - that's either laughable or very crude spin - of course he doesn't approve of attacks on Labour MPs - he is the leader of the Labour Party.

Lammy seems more concerned today about Boris Johnson attending a campaign launch in Havering where a Tory HQ approved leaflet was canvassed that has been condemned as racist.

David Lammy, the Labour MP for Tottenham, called the leaflet “one long dog whistle about race”, saying it marked a return to the controversial tactics used against Khan when he defeated Zac Goldsmith to become mayor in May 2016.

Lammy told the Guardian: “It is now contingent on Boris Johnson to apologise to Londoners for seemingly condoning this vile leaflet. I call on Brandon Lewis as party chair to do the same.”

Former Tory minister Nick Boles was among those who criticised the campaign, tweeting: “This leaflet is disgraceful. The individuals responsible should apologise, and withdraw it, or face disciplinary action. We cannot attack Corbyn for indulging antisemitism in Labour and allow messages like this to go unchallenged. @BrandonLewis over to you.”

Nice to keep us informed but what about nicknames for JC......Is there an approved list ?.... I see Tangled was using the term Maybot the other day...Is that offensive ?

Not to me it isn't.It's merely an accurate depiction of her political style.I'm sure you remember "strong and stable government" being repeated ad nauseam at last year's snap GE, for example? :winking:

More political round and round regarding race / religion / conduct tonight:

Christine Shawcroft, head of Labour’s internal disputes panel has quit tonight after The Times obtained an email she wrote on Sunday revealing her opposition to the suspension of a council candidate who posted an article on Facebook which called the Holocaust a “hoax”

Chris Williamson MP:
It was a neo-fascist who murdered my colleague Jo Cox. It was a neo-fascist who killed Makram Ali and who claimed he wanted to kill Jeremy Corbyn and Sadiq Khan. For @sajidjavid to use this term to describe @PeoplesMomentum is a menace and a disgrace. He must apologise.

Tory MP Bob Blackman apologises after sharing a post with the headline "Muslim Somali sex gang say raping white British children ‘part of their culture'", after previously retweeting Tommy Robinson.

Tommy Robinson coincidentally given a permanent ban from Twitter today.

I don't care what his sexual preferences are. So why would I do that.

Not sure why so many of you want to cover up for Paedophile gangs.

Still waiting for your evidence Rigsby. That was 7 days ago, plenty of time for you to post evidence that shrimperzone members are covering up for paedophile gangs. You are just a liar.

Twistinhg posts again are we. I thought your original rant on 4253 about Jill Dando was because you just couldn't read properly. Looks like you were deliberately doing it.....Very lefty of you.

Ask your mum if you can borrow £100 to make the challenge or stop yapping.

The last few pages of this thread have really left me with dilemma. On the one hand Im pleased that most people seem to realise that the Labour party has an issue that it needs to take more seriously. Im also pleased to see that Corbyn has accepted there is a problem.

At this point I thought I could finally see my way back to the Labour party. Maybe not immediately, but in the future when Corbyn has got a handle on this. After all, aren't we told actions speak louder than words?

However, the last few pages have reminded me that whatever Corbyn achieves on this, there will still be people that will turn a blind eye and argue against the bleeding obvious. These types of people will make me think twice about voting Labour again.
