Jeremy Corbyn's Labour

I'm quite happy to predict the Tories will be tearing themselves apart over Brexit for the next 18 months or so once article 50 is finally invoked.

There's a huge opportunity there for JC's new Shadow cabinet, if the PLP now get behind their twice elected leader.

I certainly agree that the Conservative Party are likely to go through a lot of in-fighting in the coming months.

But appointing Diane Abbott to the shadow cabinet suggests Corbyn isn't serious about taking advantage of this.

Indeed. The appointment of DA to Shadow Home Secretary clearly shows that JC is more concerned with keeping his close allies even closer and on side than doing what's best for the party and country. He should be doing everything possible to unite the PLP and building a credible and united political opposition. Instead he's opened up the party for yet more in fighting and ridicule.

Diane Abbot's past gaffs and mistakes are going to come back and haunt not just her but the party as well. I'll watch on with a mixture of satisfied amusment and bewilderment in equal measure :winking:

and so it begins - and in her case, long may it continue...

He might be a man of principle, and I do have a sneaking admiration for that, but she is an odious and conniving individual - - Labour just don't want to be in power again any time soon, do they?

Dianne Abbott will make an excellent Shadow Home Secretary.

Jezza will be in Southend on 19th November for the Eastern Labour annual conference's gala dinner, tickets at £70 a head I believe.

Original website I saw wasn't clear, but this one has more detail. £50 for the dinner alone, £70 for the conference pass (which does not include the dinner). http://www.easternlabour.org/region...ail&utm_medium=email&utm_source=easternregion

Be interesting to know whats on the menu for the dinner, must be a feast for 50 smackers.

The fee for delegates this year is £70 which includes:

Access to the conference from Friday evening to Sunday lunchtime
Welcome reception
Buffet lunch on Saturday
Tea and coffee throughout the weekend
Free entry to a front bench Tombola competition, where you can become a Labour shadow minister for something or other.
Access to all conference sessions, fringe meetings, briefings and training sessions
Free party merchandise including Owen for leader stickers, and Coffee mugs promising controls on immigration
