Jeremy Corbyn's Labour

I don't believe him.
IMHO those who do believe him are blinkered and deluded.
would be a bit odd (understatement) for him to to lie about this one thing when he speaks his mind on everything else no matter how it fits in with party policy or public opinion.
People that disagree with him normally have enough to disagree with him on without having to drag in things that they disbelieve when he has stated something very specific

Jezza wants unfettered immigration.

Every survey suggests around 70% of the people want it stopped...yet one man ignores their view!

Jezza wants to ban the bomb..has he thought of the 30,000 workers who make it and other suppliers...he doesn't care, his aid Seamus even altered Clive's speech...Poor Clive threw his phone and punched the wall in anger, never mess with a mans speech.

And yet he won't let the rest of the PLP do the same.

I'd imagine he was thinking more about the 7 Bn+ people that would be wiped out thanks to a nuclear holocaust.

I don't think it's odd at all if the choice is lie or lose your job.
Not really. If you look at the Conservative party they are now lead by a Remain MP who was very quiet in the campaign and has promoted Leave MPs such as Boris Johnson who was pro-EU just a few months before the referendum - none of them lied about their vote to save their jobs, there was no need. The only one who went was Cameron because of poor leadership.

Corbyn has spent his whole political career voting the way he sees fit whether it fits the party policy or not. 48% of the population decided to weigh up the pros and cons of an organisation that they see as flawed and then decide you are better off with it - why so hard to believe he would?

Ultimately it's a secret ballot so you can ask someone what way they voted and you can choose not to believe them but from that point on there is no point in scrutinising what that person says if you choose not to believe them anyway.

We all know that doomsday scenario will never happen,if Putin went berserk and demanded the button pushed,I reckon his generals will kill him rather than utter devastation on both sides.

I've highlighted the important points.

I don't see how the actions of the Tory party post-referendum have anything to do with this. Corbyn has spent years opposing the EU, he's a principled man as you have already pointed out. Therefore I simply don't believe that he went to the ballot box and betrayed those strong beliefs of his. I'm not making a big issue out of it, nor am I scrutinising JC, I'm just stating my belief.

And do you honestly think that if JC was doorstepped on June 24th and asked how he voted and he'd said he voted Leave he'd still be in his job today? I certainly don't. The Tory party may well be able to put such differences aside and move on in a professional manner, the Labour party in its current state would not. They'd have crucified him.

In that case why spend billions on something that will never be used?

To keep 30,000 highly skilled people in their jobs I would imagine, look at when the tories scrapped that aircraft carrier, perfectly good ship which required updating,no too easy scrap it and spend billions on new stock.

Think, you could use that many billions to employ doctors/scientists/teachers...you know things that help better humanity rather than make things that could end it.

The amount of cash England hands out to other British nations and overseas aid every year dwarfs Trident.

The relevance of the Tories is that there were MPs, as with Labour MPs voting both ways and some of them changed their minds on which way to vote within a few months of the referendum - and none of the chose based on a fear of losing their jobs and none of them have been accused of lying when asked how they voted. That privilege has been reserved for one person.

If he was doorstepped on 24th and said that he voted Leave there would be uproar - because he campaigned for Remain. If he was going to vote Leave he would have campaigned for Leave, but he didn't.

The Tories are just as split as ever but the combined efforts of the media and the PLP have made it way down the news priorities.
