Jeremy Corbyn's Labour

No,that was Heath's Tory government you're talking about for the "three day week" in the "Who Governs?" election of Feb.1974, which was won by a minority Labour government under Wilson.

I remember it well, because I stayed at Labour MP's Bruce George's ( retired in 2010) house that night in Walsall South, after the count and getting out the vote for him all day (along with quite a few other Brum Poly.students, where he was a Senior Lecturer), thus helping him win the seat narrowly for the first time for Labour.

Bruce had done his Boundaries Commision (of the time) homework and realised the seat was winnable for Labour.

There's a lesson there to be learned by some Labour candidates for the 2020 election.

Naff song for another naff 'back in the 70s me me me me me me me me' post

I was using a personal anecdote to illustrate a point. That's how we remember times/dates.

"Naff" was in my mind, because it came up in a 28/9 year old Miles Kingston article in the Independent, (sent to me by a friend at the time),which my wife came across yesterday.

MK was commenting, in his then Franglais column, on the use of "Naff Off".

Somewhat appropriately perhaps.

Why? They'll all have been long retired before Labour get back into power.
parties state policies that they would put into place if they get into power - that is giving the public a choice

its all jolly japes to imply a party won't actually have the opportunity to put them into practice and we can all do team high 5's whenever that winning joke is trotted out

Correct me if I'm wrong, but haven't we got this all arse about face? Owen Smith won 38% of the vote, which surely means he won the election, after all, 37.5% was enough to win the referendum!

You rather seem to be ignoring the inconvenient fact that JC got 61.8% of the vote (a greater share than in last year's leadership contest).

Hilarious .

The LP conference has had a bit of bother...members are up in arms ...chubby young dude was ranting on stage,I thought he was an extra from Blackadder :winking:

They are a right bunch of fruitcakes.

And calling 17 million potential voters racist. Dianne Abbott, way to go.

She made it quite clear on the DP that she was only talking about some of those 17 million who were responsible for racist attacks on Polish people and others after the referendum result.

She does know how Corybyn voted, doesn't she? :stunned:

He's stated quite clearly that he voted remain.Do you know different?

Bollocks, she is a hate filled bigot who hides behind her skin colour to comitt the same hate crimes she accuses others of.
