Jeremy Corbyn's Labour

This.
And a meeting that Angela was holding was cancelled under police advice allegedly - but the police said they had not advised that, and the venue said they cancelled it as soon as they learned it was a political gathering.
Another meeting where Angela allegedly suffered homophobic abuse - I have read various first hand reports from older long term party activists that 1 Angela wasn't there and 2 there was no abuse.
The window in a building that is shared by various businesses / organisations often gets quoted as a Corbynista thugs fact - when it was most likely a ****head on the way home from the pub who had no idea that Angela has an office tucked away on the third floor.

I heard this period of time that started during the referendum campaigns referred to as 'post fact politics'. Its so frustrating that you can't read anything at the moment without questioning authenticity / motive. No one seems to care for honesty at the moment.

more melt down of the PLP; JC doesn't know who or how to keep the party together.

Actually,I'd imagine that after he wins the leadership contest again, the gauntlet will be thrown down to people like TW and IW, along with any still recalcitrant Labour MP's, to either put up and shut up or risk deselection from 2017.

So they'll have a choice between deselection or losing their seats in the election. Either way they're screwed. Corduroy needs to do the right thing and go.

Or have a few years to build themselves a good rep as a local hard working, fair, diligent & sane MP, stand as Independent Labour? if just a few get in that could be significant. I have voted Labour before (and Tory, green and Lib!) but wouldn't with JC at the head.

IMHO,reselection should be automatics for all MP's, whatever their political party. Especially where the PLP is concerned. This was a Chartists demand you'll remember, in the 19th century.

Personally,I don't think any SDP 80's style split will happen.However, I've been wrong before.:winking:

In any case, the political omens for independents or even an SDP type Labour spin off party are not good.

(You seem to change political parties a lot more than you do your football team. Why is that)?

Why would folk necessarily be loyal to a particular political party? I don't see the point - vote for whoever you'd most like to see elected.

Personally,I've never seen politics (or football) that way.

In the UK we tend to vote for a political party rather than an individual.

Granted once a person has been elected as an MP, there is usually quite a strong "constituency" effect, worth up to 5,000 votes. That's precisely why incumbents are so difficult to knock off their perch, once elected.

What never ever a Tory/BNP/UKIP? Yes, I agree.

Which is fair enough of course.

But I don't much see the point of being as loyal to a political party as one is to one's football team.

"I'm a Labour/Lib Dem/Tory man, always have been, always will be." But what if you don't agree with their policies any longer? Or their chosen candidate is an arsehead?

There's always a choice, I've not always blindly voted Labour - but I'd only vote Tory if they were the centreist of the right wing candidates on offer - and then I'd have to go to my dad's grave and beg his forgiveness and then have a shower.

In answer to your first point,I presume you change the brands you buy on your supermarket shop fairly regularly? Most people don't.

In answer to your second, get involved at local, branch level and argue for a change of policy.

If,as you say,the chosen candidate is an "arsehead"-see the Chartists solution above.
