How about Ricky Miller - Dover Athletic

I believe he's scored 24 in 23 in the Nat Lge this season, been round the block a bit, but scores wherever he's gone - was also sacked by Luton for alleged racially aggravated assault on a taxi driver two years ago. He was cleared in court in October 2015, so he'd fit in with our miscreants !

Barry Fry was very keen to sign him for Peterboro, so added incentive to blag him. 27 years old, maybe worth a look.

People on here (I know that's a lazy sweeping generalisation but there it is) are always keen to sign lower league talent so how about Bogle at Grimsby - Bogle has come up from Solihull Moors in the Conference North and shown he can score in a multi-storey carpark (i.e. at a number of levels .... :whistling:) .............

Think we're a bit late on him and he's now outside of our price range. Had we moved for him when he was at Solihull Moors he'd have been ideal.

Shame we've never had any success signing prolific goalscorers from Non-League ! :winking:

Been linked with a few Championship clubs, think Rotherham are favourites.

Sounds interesting. A bit older than ideal but I'm glad we've sent someone to watch him.

If we signed the best/most promising player in the Conference South each year we'd have a few duds but some real gems as well.

Don't know as I've never seen him play, but I think that fits the profile of the type of player I'd be looking for. We could ease him in as sub this season behind Ranger, Cox and Fortune and be ready to replace Fortune in 2018.

I agree he is definitely the type of player to bring in. We do not have the budget for a player to be vying straight away with Ranger, Cox and Fortune and arguably do not need one. Williams is already on his way out on loan and I doubt Mooney's contract will be extended so now is the time to take a chance on a couple of younger and/or non-league players.

I get frustrated when young hungry non-league players are seen as the solution and our current strikers prove this. We are though now in a position to take a bit of punt without really losing much if it does not work out.

Absolutely no chance of us being able to afford him or him wanting to come here even if we could.

He's gone wrong in transfer windows previously by adding quantity rather than quality and presumably won't make that mistake again. I'd say less is more in this window - the team is flying high so no need for major changes. Maybe an opportunity to lose a couple who won't play? Amused that when we have possibly our strongest front line for years - Ranger, Cox, Fortune, Mooney - that people feel we need a striker. A bit like me when I played football manager as a kid. Sorry chaps!

Been saying this for ages .

Would be nice to see somebody young who will play most games and score minimum 10.

That's the problem with January. Unless your a big club coming in for some lower league star, then you end up with people who have failed else where.

Barnett done ok to start with but in the end showed why Shrewsbury were happy to bin a player they paid £100,000 for just 12months before, whilst they were struggling at the bottom.

Pigott again did ok, including Wembley. His best asset was to give Corr the kick up the backside needed.
