Just seen the below on twitter, start of the transfer merry go round rumours again. Probably nonsense looking at the fee

John Akinde is rumoured to have many league 1 clubs chasing his signature including Southend and Shrewsbury. Fee of 350k #STFC #SUFC #Barnet

From that well known guy, Darrell Underwood. Who claims to be ITK. He's not.

Although on paper we are well positioned with strikers, i get worried about Ranger and injuries ,reading how it appears he was feeling discomfort again versus Swindon,a fit Ranger would be enormous for us ,but i fear it may take time for that to happen and we need to be patient with him,so hopefully we can procure another decent striker in the January transfer window, a goalscoring one.We cannot just rely on Cox, Fortune is the foil for Cox,thats unless Mooney when fit again can find his goalscoring touch from a few seasons back.Too many missed chances at the present.

For me all we need in January is a striker on loan to cover for when Ranger is injured. Ideally a youngster from a Premier League/Championship club as Fortune, Cox and Mooney are all over 30. Don't want Jay Simpson, he's only scored once or twice this season and doesn't seem like the sort of character we want, especially with the team spirit so good at the moment. Otherwise I don't expect much activity - if it ain't broke etc.

Cox is 29....

Reported on BBC that Everton are close to a £12m move for Charltons Lookman. They have also hit a form streak and it shows how tough it is in this league when you are up against clubs like Charlton." Sheff Utds budget is probably more than 3 times more than us and Charltons is already larger than theirs " ( Kelvin Thomas- Oxford Manager ). That size of fee would push them into the play offs if used wisely.
Also goes to show the value of producing great youngsters. Bring on the Bentley cash

I fear the Bentley situation won't be resolved unti Feb! Seems ridiculous to take so long and precludes us spending any money in the transfer window(Ron allowing)!

Hmmm...not sure. Transfer fees are often paid in installments, so maybe we could buy (and I'm making the names up here) Charlie Smith for £100,000, payable in 10 x£10,000 payments, in the same way we might get 10 x £70,000 payments for Bentley.
So it's a flow of cash rather that lump sums.

Did that make sense?

Appears to have gone into Yorkshire mode.
