I am pleased for you that you were not around during the early 2000s.

The late 90's were even worse for strikers! Fitzpatrick, Campbell, Richards, Belgrave, Conlon, Roach, the list goes on....jesus you kids don't know you're born these days! :stunned:

Agreed, there were about 7 or 8 years there when I wouldn't mind betting we had some of the worst players ever to play for us in our entire history. There were strikers in there that genuinely make Mooney look like Alan Shearer in his prime.

Are 3 centre backs really enough? If two of them get injured (which doesn't seem too unlikely with their fitness records) we're in trouble, especially without the option to bring in loans outside of the window now.

We still have AB so that gives us 4, but not sure we will see him in a Blue Shirt again

White can do a job at centre-back if needed and we have young Dan Matzusaka too so I think we're alright for defenders. It's a striker we need.

White might be able to a decent job for the odd game at centre back, but I wouldn't be comfortable with him there for an extended run of games. Matsazuka has played a handful of games for Harlow Town, that's not exactly reliable backup for a team chasing the playoffs in League 1.

If Ranger ends up staying I don't even think we need a new striker, 5 is enough. Even so, surely we can afford to bring in a young Premier League centre back on loan as well as a striker.

Innis is now cleared for action so we are talking may one more game at most and that assumes Ferdinand is not fit. If he isn't and we have White there verses Oxford thats ok, and if it weren't Innis is available.

Allegedly the club are still waiting for a judgement from the FA re Ranger (a week after the hearing). Either they work part time or their is some clear doubt re the outcome.

Quick question, if we don't sign anyone whatsoever on Sky Deadline Day, does that deem that we've signed no one at all. If we sign 5 players in a window, should we only sign on the last day ??

The lads only require 10 points from 18 games to secure current status....I'm content with that being honest ATM.

It would take one hell of a collapse for us to get relegated. It'd probably be quite impressive

Tilson's team were top 6 when their wages became nil....then free fall ....many other teams have suffered wayward runs seeing them plummet down the table into oblivion.

52/53 points first is the only way to go.

55 points is the only way to go, let us all not forget we were once relegated with 54 points!

I don't think we will get anyone on deadline day, as others have said previously, anyone half decent would have been snapped up by now.

We will probably end up getting an out of contract player when and if needed between now and the end of the season.
