Looking at League 1 strikers, and choosing players with less than 20 appearances this season, (There may be injuries included & This is based on league appearances..) there is:
  • Conor Wilkinson - Bolton - 15 games 4 goals
  • Marc McNulty - Sheffield United - 16 games 1 goal
  • Rory Donnelly - Gillingham - 16 games 1 goal
  • AJ Leitch-Smith - Shrewsbury - 12 games 1 goal
  • Anton Forrester - Port Vale - 10 games 2 goals
  • Lee Novak - Charlton - 15 games 2 goals (Injured as stated by rigsby)
  • Leon Clarke - Sheffield United - 16 games 1 goal
  • Nicky Maynard - MK Dons - 20 games 1 goal
  • Paddy Madden - Scunthorpe - 17 games 7 goals
  • James Hanson - Bradford - 17 games 4 goals (Sheffield United have bid for him)

I really cannot see it being anyone of these besides Leon Clarke...

Paddy Madden would be an excellent signing but couldn't see Scunny letting him go.

Good shout. He's Irish, 6 feet tall, recent ratio of a goal every 3 games... probably affordable wages too. Fits with PB-type signings and he may well be mates with one or more of our Irish lads

He's been left out of their squad for their last two games and has also been linked to Yeovil... His former club but surely he'd prefer to stay in League 1 and we could pay more?

Doubt he'd come cheap but if we can bid for a forward being chased by Championship clubs...

It might be Jamie Proctor at Bolton. Phil Brown was interested in him before, and at 24 and 6'2" in height he might be the sort of bustling striker who could form a partnership upfront with Simon Cox.
0 goals in 20 games but hasn't played more than a few minutes as a sub since September.

Great scoring record too. I'd settle for him as well

Wouldnt want Leon Clarke anywhere near the club after what happened last time he was here. No doubt he is a goal scorer, but has massive attitude issues. Seems to happen whereever he goes

That’s exactly what was said about Ranger at other clubs

It's Nicky Ajose at Charlton.

Can't see it happening, 6 in 21 this season since joining for £800,000.

That said, he was left out of their 18 last weekend despite being fully fit and available and he seems to have been linked with a move away this month...
