Do we actually need another forward?

IF Ranger plays again, then we have Cox, MAF, Nouble, Mooney (back in Feb I think) & Ranger. You could argue that Hines & McGlasham could do a job up to.

Don't get me wrong I don't think Mooney is the answer but seems a waste of £'s if he can't get on he bench (when fit).

Would be good to get someone in who consistently scores, like cox as it makes a massive difference in games where we have players who take chances when they come (cox v Rochdale for example). We have been creating a lot of chances and need to put games to bed as we currently struggle to quickly get second goal in game. Mooney will be off and we all know that he cannot play the target man role and ranger could be off, so we definitely need another quality striker in. Could also be the difference to us breaking into the playoffs and I think brown knows this

I think so. I'd be surprised if Mooney plays for us again and Ranger is in limbo who knows when of if this suspension will be lifted before the end of the season. You never know, he could even be in prison by then... [I actually have no idea what sort of sentencing could be possible or likely]

Maybe we can read a bit more into this... Spending £'a on a new forward & the signing of Nouble = end of Ranger??? 2+2=??

I think they make the call on Nile this week.

I see Sheffield United have signed James Hanson from Bradford, good player and would loved to have seen him come to roots hall.

Good signing for them, the difference in the sort of money they can spend compared to others in this league is what will ultimately see them promoted this season.

The Championship striker we are after has attracted interest from about seven other clubs including Championship clubs. So that will be unlikely, but Phil said he will do his best. We have now turned our attentions to a League one forward who is currently out of favour.

Matty Fryatt?
He hasn't played at all this season or last, so would be a huge risk and would take the rest of the season to get match fit!

I went through the squads of champ clubs last night and nobody springs to mind! Pulling at strings:
  • Eoin Doyle
  • Rickie Lambert (as they're offloading him)
  • Jermaine Beckford
  • Stevie May
(Note - I was looking for names, given Browns track record)

Off the top of my head - Leon Clarke? They've just signed Hanson

Lee Novak has only made 15 appearances for Charlton this season and hasn't featured in any of their matchday squads since the FA Cup second round over a month ago. His last league appearance for them was away at Bradford in early December.

Although, he could just be injured...

Frank Nouble? Perhaps PB is having a senior moment

Is this from official club sources or Chris Phillips?
