I am hoping we do sign him. He seems like a player who could do very well for us, particularly once he opens his goal account with us.

Agree totally i actually prefer him to Piggott although its the Pig that has scored the goals. Cassidy has decent work rate and is quite skillful. Maybe if he feels settled at a club the goals will follow. Certainly be worth a year contract

Seems like the kind of player who, once netting a goal, will go on and score quite a few! His workrate is class and clearly works well in a 442.

Give him a contract brown!

I'd certainly like to see us take a punt on him, after all he has contributed to the end of season run we have had and add a few goals to his game and it would be a great piece of business for the club.

If we were talking to him verbally over this period and he knew he was wanted it could just give him a little bit more confidence and we could reap the benefits in the play off games.

Perhaps, knowing he was being released and wondering about his future has been playing on his mind as I don't think Wolves decision would have been a bolt out of the blue to him.

Hope it doesnt turn into another Jakub Sokolik situation, who was in a similar position after being released by Liverpool.

Will Cassidy want to move to Southend permanently? On Twitter his girlfriend has just bought a house 'oop north and presumably he lives there too. Not sure if he will want to make the move south so soon and will probably look for a better option closer to home such as Chesterfield or someone. Hope he does sign though as I like him - he's great at pulling defenders out of position to create more room and he works very hard.

It could well do, dependant on his agent. If we make Div 1 then I think we stand a very good chance of getting him. As for his girlfriend, dump her, football comes first.

Well Pigott started ok but neither look like goalscorers recently.

Cassidy looks a decent player and did score on previous loans so the lack of a single goal with us is surprising.

Would sign him up and another striker too. He has formed a good partnership with Corr IMO.

I actually think it was a big mistake not starting him against Morecambe but I know he wasn't fully fit. He works so hard for the team but ultimately he needs to score goals which he hasn't done but I do like him and maybe offer him a 6 month contract or something like that.

Hopefully he'll bust a nut in the playoffs to impress and score the winner at Wembley, securing a permanent contract with us in the process. Sounds like he'll need hernia surgery done in the summer so get that done early doors and with 6 weeks recovery, should be back in time for mid-July and a slightly later start to his pre-season ...

Cassidy :Worthy:

Nooooooooo! Don't sign Cassidy. There's footballers out with a good engine who actually score goals. And please, a replacement for Corr. As I've said before, PB is great at sorting defence but below average in attack. Get an attack minded coach in for next season and some decent strikers for gawd sake. Strikers who are exciting to watch on the ball, who will bring in the crowds too. I can't take another season of 'yawn yawn' Corr, and 'some day I'll score a goal' Cassidy.

Bit harsh that, Without Corr, we would have been way below the playoff places. He can score goals no after how bad they are. Goals are goals. No matter how you score one, it will still only count as one. (Unless you are in the Champions League).
