When I met mfurok last he predicted that Jack Wood would find an EFL club that would take him on.The standard, even at the top, of NL South and North is far off the standard of even average teams in the NL. You would expect him to stand out as a full time pro against part time opposition. I think he has a decent football brain but is neither quick nor strong enough and probably lacks concentration.
To be fair I always did my best to avoid heading long clearances or goal kicks back in the day. The last thing you need on a freezing February Sunday morning whilst nursing a hangover is a wet muddy football slapping into your forehead like a punch from Tyson Fury. Im sure no one noticed.. But I guess you have no choice if you’re being paid for itHe is the best on the training pitch every week though.
With Jack Wood - I went to the pre season game vs Bishops Stortford. Jack wood came on in the second half. A clearance was hit about 40 yards and would have hit his head if he stood still. Shouts from Collin of “head it”. Wood was 5 yards away by the time it arrived and their fella headed it unchallenged. He may be the best player in the world, but if he doesn’t want to get risk getting hurt he will never get game time.
Yeah. I was more Pat Butcher than Terry Butcher myself. To be fair I always did my best to avoid heading long clearances or goal kicks back in the day. the key difference is that a pass to a team - mate retains possession.Kev avoided quite a lot of tackles with a quick pass to the side or back?

Not sure that might be correct I read it as Kev saying as Torquay are top and going well ,Wood is not getting the game time the club and he hoped forIf he's not getting a game at a team in a division below, maybe that's telling us something
Seems like a totally pointless for everyone
The problem is that is Jack is a bit of an enigma. He's not good enough as a striker to score many goals, even if he started 35 games. He hasn't the stamina or tackling ability to be a midfielder.Bring him back and give him 45 minutes... what's the worst that can happen? He threaten our top goal scoring forwards of the season (Bim excluded, obviously)
He's not a RWB so why would we do that? He's not a striker
Jesus this is frustrating
He either needs to be played behind the strikers or at RWB when we need more attacking options in the field
Aside from, we don't have a system to suit
Tbf Torquay are at the top of the NLS so was never going to walk into their team. He had a good loan spell with Tonbridge Angels a couple of years ago at the same level. I think another loan in the NLS would be good for himIf he's not getting a game at a team in a division below, maybe that's telling us something
ts certainly telling us we sent him on loan somewhere who can’t provide the one thing we sent him there for. Might have been sensible to send him to a mid table team rather than a team flying and reluctant to make changes (understandably). What it probably tells us is nothing. If he's not getting a game at a team in a division below, maybe that's telling us something
When we are chasing a game and need that attacking outlet, he could do a job there and play more advanced, last time he did that he played well and got the assist for the winner or equaliser (can't remember)He's not a RWB so why would we do that?
