A Bit of Fun Is Ron Leaving/Selling?

Buyout would not be totally out of the question. Considering we have planning approved for the new stadium, surely that has to be a real profit spinner once built etc.

Ron has done all the hard ground work to get this far, so I dont think its unrealistic to think someone would now buy this project (SUFC) off of Ron and move us forward with the stadium.

Could be why Ron is saying he (practically) cannot say anything that is going to jeopordise the future of the club and he will have more to say in a week or two.

That will either be after we are in administration, or potentially now, after a new buyer is in place?!

Interesting...

I don't know but maybe it would be of some interest to a Dhabi person with the planning we have in-line with the ground and FF, maybe it is a good opportunity to make some money.I would not write this rumour off so quickly as others.

Personally I think my rumor about Jimmy Somerville is more likely and I made that up on the spot.

My mate was playing golf on the xbox with Tilly the other day, and he stated Lee Sawyer will be buying the club with this weeks pocket money from his Nan. Effectively paving the way for grandma Sawyer to become new Southend chairperson.

If you told me it was an all Irish consortium including Macca, Foran, O'Donovan, Pat Scully and the bloke who makes the white pudding in the butchers shop in O'Connell Street, I'd have believed you Ant. ;)

A buyout of the club would mean nothing regarding development as that is all owned by SEL, If RM were to sell his share of SEL / the other company based offshore (whose name escapes me) then the purchaser would have the ground B&L etc

5 quid for the football club at the moment is about 4 pound above the going rate for a loss making club with no assets and massive debts.

Unless RM is convinced that the planning permission will hold up without the football club, it is in his interest to keep the club out of administration. I was convinced a while ago that this was never the case and the football club was safe due to the covenants etc, now PP has been granted is it still the case

Had a thought earlier today, that all ronald martin needs to do is issue new shares in SUFC, which will ultimately mean he relinquishes control, but will allow external shareholders in.

I know he did a issue recently, but it wasnt worth a **** as he wasn't giving up a majority holding, waste of £120. But, if the opportunity arose for a decent holding to be bought, I'd have chucked 25k into a consortium as it'd have to be worth a punt.

To be fair none of those you have heard it (me included) have said we believe the rumour and at least it's not come from someone who "plays golf" with Tilly or anything like that. If someone can categorically confirm that it wasn't on Essex Radio then fair do's, I never heard it myself so can't confirm. The only I thing I can tell you is that I had a call from my Uncle and the sole purpose was to ask if I'd heard what his son had allegedly heard on Essex Radio. My cousin isn't the sort to lie about this kinda stuff.

I wouldn't have posted if ldnfatso hadn't already mentioned the same details on here, if I'd heard a rumour like that without knowledge of anyone hearing the same I'd have kept it to myself as most of the time the information is inaccurate - and the Zoners who post it are ripped apart! :)

I did not hear it myself but was told by 3 people by txt today that it was on the radio.

What a consortium that would be. The new stadium would probably be in the shape of a pint glass and named the Guinness stadion.

I'm sorry Angell Delight, I think that Irish Shrimper's insightful and useful post is far more appropriate on this forum

None as far as i know, he had been writing this off BUT that doesnt mean its not still owing should the administration rumour come true.
He'd have been mad to write it off, surely the balance would have allowed him to be majority voter in accepting his own 10p in the £ bid through should the club go into administration?
