Supporters Group News Ideas for further protests.

Those that know me be it family or friends would acknowledge that I am a half glass full, mild mannered, diplomatic type of guy, so when I say it's time to just NUKE THE B@£&TED RAT AND RATTY TOWERS TOO! then I am fully behind a mass demo outside RAT KINGDOM! I agree that it would need to be more organised than just picking a date and saying be there. I believe the ability to 'bus in' would be needed, a bit 1970's flying picket style (no not the pop group) Even if you can get half the numbers that marched on Saturday all at Rat Hill at the same time it's going to cause chaos and inturn gain high profile coverage. Plenty of chanting, flares (not another 70's ref), banners and air horns. More tennis balls on the lawn or what ever takes your fancy! Even if the demo was enforceable curtailed I would argue that if done right the impact made would well be worth it! If anyone would have asked me 6 months ago would I ever commit to writing the above I would have said " probably a bit over the top that" now I genuinely believe, apart from personal physical attacks on his person or family, anything go's!

It would be really bad if about 5 cars or more go past his house and sound their horns, bib, bib, bibbing at the same time. Then turn back further down the road and sound horns a few minutes later. I'm not suggesting you do it as it could be really annoying for the Martin family, and may get the neighbours putting even more pressure on him. So whatever you do, don't do this. Cough.

Agree.

£1,200 + VAT though...

Anyone want to chip in?
How long is that for? IF, and its a big IF Ron manages to avoid us being wound up on the 4th and gets another adjournment I'd say that would be good money spent if its for a full month.

Might be some left from the protest monies pot and i'm sure if people saw the design and what it was getting they may well re-contribute.

Might be advertising standards laws etc about what can and can't be put which would stop it in its tracks though

Maybe an extermination firm, such as Rentokil for example, would consider chipping in. if a contribution from us ensured that a very large rat could be featured. Maybe a local firm with a soft spot for SUFC could be approached.

The next protest is called '' I wipe my Arse on Ron Martin family''

At our next Home game Oxford City , After 25 minutes everyone throws toilet paper AKA bog rolls onto the pitch :-) ( ole School )

It take the Stewards a few minute's to clear away and will get massive media coverage
Sounds good to me 👍

Reminds me of the late 60s early 70s on the North Bank . The Leigh crew I was in used to get of the bus at The Plough , first stop was the public toilets 'now a little pub' and get the toilet rolls before walking to the ground along West Street . It is very hard to throw a toilet roll so it flies through the air like a streamer , only a couple of our crew could do it the roof of the North Bank is not high enough to get the height . The West Stand would be a better place to throw them from as you have the height .

The ex player pleas to Ron continue - Derrick Parker's heart-felt message is now up on social media. Yesterday it was Dave Worthington and Mickey Stead. The day before it was Parms, Spanner and Beeso. Merv the Swerve coming up later. They keep on coming.

Still waiting on Donut tho - he has promised but maybe he's going for a big production and has been impacted by the strike in Hollywood.

Totally agree.
However, even if the supporters groups called for a full scale march/protest down Benfleet Road, I suspect about 50 people would turn up, at best. We need big numbers, like we had on Saturday, but it just wont happen.
For whatever reason, it doesn't seem a popular form of protest amongst our fanbase, unfortunately. Saturday ticked a lot of boxes to make it possible for big numbers. It was easy to get to, it wasn't seen as an "inconvenience", people were in the area for the game anyway etc. Benfleet road doesn't tick those boxes, plus some obviously don't feel comfortable visiting the rats abode.

Alas it's a logistics issue. For example Morrison's in Hadleigh allow 3 hrs free parking in their large car park. Park there, meet at nearby Vic House corner & about a 15-20 min walk to 'The lair'.
Protest loudly outside for an hr then walk back, but some fans would be unable to complete the distance, thus reducing numbers in attendance. Alternative would be to park in Shipwrights Drive, plenty of parking spaces there, & only a 10 min walk maximum. Possible 3rd option is that Benfleet Tower opp 'The Lair' is now empty, available to rent. The spaces there could accommodate a few cars, which if full could bring 30 odd fans to 'The lair'.

Exactly mate. It is a shame. But, short of the Trust sticking on a load of coaches for it. I just don't see how it will ever get the numbers it should.
Might be worth a little chat with SBC, I think they are owed money and might be interested in putting on a coach, say, from Benfleet station to drop off chez Ron and then return a few hours later? Even if people pay £5 a go and fill the coach, it would probably be close to covering the cost?

Interesting to see Bayern Munich's game being disrupted by tennis balls being thrown on the pitch during yesterday's cup match.

Now where have I seen that before 🤔

Mickey Mouse club. Should get their own ideas.
