I agree. The Wolves game was fast, furious and pulsating. Paul Clark was absolutely brilliant that night. His never-say-die performance literally held Southend together at a time of relentless and incredible pressure by Wolves to get back into the game. Jim Stannard was also not far behind Clark in terms of his contribution to the Southend victory.
And one of the few occasions that we had a crucial match at home and actually won!

You might recall that, at the start of the year, we conducted a poll to determine the most iconic matches fans had seen at Roots Hall.
The aim was then to use those results to determine which matches we would get some special prints made up for the club (paid for by the SUEPA Fund), which they will then initially use to brighten up the box corridor in the East Stand. These prints will then be useable elsewhere as and when the East Stand gets redeveloped - it is all part of helping to preserve and bring to life our club history which SUEPA is playing a leading role in.
Each print contains the original match programme, some match pictures/other memorabilia, a match description, and a note acknowledging who kindly donated the programme.
Well, the first batch of the prints was delivered to Commercial Manager Rylee Doe yesterday, with the remaining prints to follow in the coming weeks. Once they are all ready they will be put on display.
We are indebted as ever to the great work being done here by Dave Shields of Football Stadium Photography
